Where does my religion or god come from? Nowhere, as I don't believe in either. Where does your religion/god come from? People who made it up back in the day.

I've looked at it objectively my whole life. No-one has ever tried to force religion, or force atheism on me. I have formed my own views due to the fact that I actually have a brain capable of thought, along with scientific evidence/fact which proves that a lot of aspects of religion are down right lies.

OK, you say you're not religious yet you believe in god/jesus/holy spirit/the fact that Mary never got pumped etc. So substitute any time that I've mentioned religion or religious with "believe in god/higher power/jesus/whatever".
 
Has anyone ever written a song called 'Arguments About Beliefs Will Never Be Settled On Teh Internetz, So There's Probably Not Much Point In Anyone Getting Too Worked Up About It'? Because if so, and it's on Youtube, someone should probably link to it.

I'm quite glad I didn't take anything psychedelic today after all as the local paper has just informed me that someone got torn apart under a bus not far from me and going on the description I strongly suspect it's a lovely old man who I used to talk to / help with shopping from time to time.

On a much happier note, someone is making ME a cake at the moment. Lemon Polenta!

Clearly it does as I am the judge of what I do and don't post within the rules of BL, it's clear I'm a particular fan of this artist and having been brought up a Christian, my mother was a Sunday school teacher and I went to a church school I really identify with Mr Lydons words, and I believe he would want them aired during such a discourse.

Politics and religion, your not going to resolve them here, millions have died in the real world trying to or at least in their name.

I think I may well distract myself with CAKE. And a spliff! After all I'm not sure it was him yet, people in the pub later will probably know.

I was offered some leftover butter, sugar and lemon zest a few minutes ago from the bowl and refused. Then when my girlfriend left the room I secretly ate some! Thank goodness EADD allows me a platform to vent such dark confessions.
 
Crack regardless of my education which involved a degree in theology.. Ive been a christian for 15 years.. To me that means having a relationship with God .. Yes I know about Him.. Same as I know my own family,

And yeah.. mountains can move.. people can come to life.. virgins can be pregnant.

Hes the creator.. He created everything.. including logic.

Used to be hope yeah.. theres been dark times when all there was was hope.. But
not anymore.. God is reality for me. absolutely...

you need to be reading that bible a bit more carefully and not just going along with the masses, the idea of God having a gender, come off it thats kids stuff

Some of the difficulty comes in examining the fact that humanity is created in God’s image. Genesis 1:26-27 says, “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’ So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

Both man and woman are created in the image of God, in that they are greater than all the other creations as they, like God, have a mind, will, intellect, emotions, and moral capacity. Animals do not possess a moral capacity and do not possess an immaterial component like humanity does. The image of God is the spiritual component that humanity alone possesses. God created humanity to have a relationship with Him. Humanity is the only creation designed for that purpose.

I agree, it is worth starting a new thread devoted to that topic due to such an interest from various people. If left in here I feel it could be ended quickly and taken over by people talking about their favourite colour of training shoe and lost in the void of gibberings forever!!
