Man, I'd like to say I've been all sober for 2 weeks-ish (I'm not sure when I started) now, but the folks have broken out the wine with dinner on occasion and I've had a glass or two. Had two today, was abnormally pleasant for such a small amount, but I don't like sobering up while awake. I'm eyeing this bottle of really old imitation rum extract...honestly considering looking up safety profile of ingredients. 8(:|

Edit: Haha, that's too sketchy even for me, I thought it'd just be alcohol with artificial flavoring but there's some unpleasant sounding things in there. Dammit, I should just stop being awake at night if it bothers me so.

i know ya pain man,its been far too longsince i was on the amphs.
sucks not having money doesnt it?
and parents.
thye suck too.

Usually one of them sucks and the other one blows. If not then they tend to get a divorce.

Nah just kidding though, my parents are alright if only a bit tweaked. Father is a total loner, peculiar guy and mother is on the verge of neurotic and overprotective but warm-hearted. I guess I have nothing to complain about really. Except the fact that their extremely polar personalities are also inside of me and they clash. And its fucking weird.

Im still tapering my diazepam powder, just 7 mg a day now but I cant taper quicker because I am already on the brink of insomnia.
Also on the waiting list for an addiction program, y'know for my tendencies toward poly use, especially K. You can go into the program with the goal to not quit but manage your use to make it durable.

What is it with cats when they're like: Red Alert! I need to sit down and lick my balls, stat!

I mean, I would, I totally would, I'd go apeshit on em but not at any random moment.

Haha yeah and not a minute later they go on licking the hand that feeds them :D

On another note: awesome tats Solipsis, really cool idea, I like those!

thanks sn23 cheers :) I'm very happy with them and it gave me quite a rush while I was expecting a lot of pain, also it has psychological impact I was not really prepared for, all positive.

Ugh. I hate it when I'm famished, but my dad's in the kitchen. The dude's vibes are just too harsh for a peaceful lunch.

Anyone here listen to They Might Be Giants? I saw them a few weeks back after ingesting some mushrooms of the psilocybe variety. So much goofy/absurd/freaky/hilarious/genuine/caring/loving energy;'twas a complete and total sensory overload, I just let myself go and realized how unattached from my true self I had been. Definitely going to write a trip report.

Never Knows Best said:
The first and obvious question I asked it was why was Abel's offering accepted but Cain's not, then it hit me. As a shepherd, Abel is living off of and working with what was given to him by Existence, and his sacrifice of the lamb was in thanks to nature for providing for him. A very humble act. Cain on the other hand was a farmer, instead of taking that which was given to him he tried to create it himself, so his offering was here's this I made, I offer it to you the Divine. This was ungrateful. So Abel represents being in tune with our true nature, while Cain is the ego-delusion.

The denial of true nature and first hint of the false-self was created be their parents, eating the Forbidden Fruit and rejecting the divine. Cain goes further, and by killing Abel the ego has overcome the divine nature (ya'know, we are the universe/existence/etc.etc.) and become dominant in man.

The rest of the story I haven't figured out yet (well the punishment of wandering and inability to raise crops forevermore make sense, but the mark and stuff), or at least it didn't come to me immediately in the flash, I still have a ways to go.

You see what sobriety does to me? I think all the time and I'm becoming a mystic or something. Haha, really though my mood has been pretty darn good lately as a result. Oh and I got like 5 lighters (3 wick, two torch) and a shitload of butane and stuff today, old ones too, I guess someone my dad knows was getting rid of boxes and boxes and stuff so I got to take a lil' (the rest will probably go for profit). Lucky~

Glad it's got you thinking! I like that interpretation.

If you haven't already, read Ishmael by David Quinn...he makes a very similar argument. Another excellent book.

:)

Just got back from a trip to one of the lushest, greenest places on the planet (Kauai)...now on to a month of 80 hr work weeks in the hospital. :\

Thanks for the words and recommendation, I will have to read that book (read the wiki article on it, seems very agreeable).

Also, recently reading Carl Jung's Seven Sermons to the Dead (Jung's spiritual life was rather Gnostic and quite intriguing, though his co-opting of terms can be a bit bothersome, not that it really matters), and knowing Hesse was influenced very much by Jungian thought, I can see very easily how this helped lead to Hesse's experiences that would inspire Steppenwolf.

Anyway, in spite of my non-Catholocism I decided wtf why not follow this book thing's advice I was given for Lent (today was Ash Wednesday, its start) I would hold the traditional fast. Well not a total fast, but I ate only breakfast, aside from that nothing but tea and tobacco to sate me all day. Fasting is a totally underrated spiritual practice these days I think. Well I know the Eastern Orthodox are all about it still, but overall society (hah, not that overall society has ever been particularly spiritual).

Well, this is very interesting!

I've freebased a bit of DPT, and am toking on that a bit in my vaporizer. It's completely different than I expected it to be. Based on reports I'd read, I thought it would have a sharp edge to it, if you will, cutting straight into stimulating, strange and inexplicable states of consciousness. Rather, at the dosages I'm working with, it's got a sort of floaty dreamy fuzziness to it.

whats up PD socialites, i don't come around here much but i had a ? and didn't wanna make a thread (cuz i think this kind of thread isn't allowed)

first off, i don't typically like to take psychedelics just to 'have a good time', i typically like to prepare for a trip and stay at home or outdoors and just kind of see where they will take me and what i might learn, but for valentines day i got me and my fiancé tickets to cirque du soleil cuz they were coming to DFW and both of us wanted to see a show like this, initially i had no intention of tripping but as it draws closer i really feel like i would like a low dose of something, so i ask y'all what do you think i should take, i have mush, DMT, 2ce, bridgessi (sp?) extract, 4 aco dmt, and should be getting a couple hits of acid in the coming days.

what do y'all think would be best for enhancing the usual pleasures while not making me too nervous being in public and confined to my seat?

any feedback would be greatly appreciated, y'all take care
