^lust, caution would not have made much sense without any sex scenes. i grant the film is a bit excessive, but it's an example of it being integral to the story.
 
I didn't think about "Word Police". I must admit I had to whip it out and have a spank during that sex scene. That was fucking hot. I'll rephrase. 99.9% of all sex scenes are a waste of screentime. When there's something else happening aside from normal sex, there's some point to it. Like the dangerous fetishisitic element of Cronenberg's "Crash" and the retard orgy in "The Idiots". Most of the time, however, the scenes add nothing and can be implied. It's like showing people sleeping instead of showing them going to bed and waking up in the morning; or showing people shitting rather than showing them walking into the toilet. The sex scene in "The Rum Diary" is a good example. Pretty boy Johnny Depp fucking a beautiful model-type has no place in a Hunter S Thompson movie; no place, whatsoever...

Can't get those sexy puppets out of my head, now. Got to go choke the lizard... spank the monkey... polish my bishop... then maybe I'll masturbate.
 
^The part where Chenault shows up and jumps Kemp's bones was pretty much the climax to the book. There wasn't alot of detail in the book, but the scene in the movie was only 10-15 seconds or so. That movie was such a strange adaptation either way...

as for team america, see the extended cut of that scene for a good laugh. the stuff they got those dolls doing, with the full intention to cut it out when the ratings boards freaks, is .... well.... hilariously excessive

I disagree. I thought The US Office only started getting good when they stopped jacking the British version's storylines, and started forming their own. The British Office is one of my favourite shows ever. However I liked the US version, the longer time on air allowed for interesting advancing character narratives (well mainly the Jim and Pam thing, but there were others).
 
The "Jim and Pam thing" is the worst part of the US version, and only really seemed to be there to rope in the soccer mom demographic.

I can't stand the american version I've priobably seen five episodes and laughed once or twice. The british version is much better.

haha, ok it may not have been the best example. I watched the series a while ago, and I haven't really kept up with it.

But the point I was trying to make was that my attitude towards the US Office was initially quite negative, though I warmed to it, and I attributed this in part to a familiarity with the plight of the characters (due to how fucking long the series went on for).

I always loved him in 40 Year Old Virgin, Anchorman and Little Miss Sunshine. It's a shame he probably won't do anything that cool again.

Although my 13 year old cousin put Get Smart on the other night; I pretended to be excited but was rolling my eyes on the inside. But I ended up enjoying it.
 
I feel like Anchorman is the best thing Steve Carrell has done (not counting his Daily Show appearances), and he was only in a supporting role...it should've stopped there.
