I also think that methadone has been a help to me.
Ok I still use gear but I no longer inject it and the methadone has deffo helped me to stay in work.
Before my script I was taking loads of time off work every time I couldn't score cos no gear about or no cash to buy it.
Working whilst rattling is impossible I found.

On a slightly serious note, subbiez really did help me in a massive way. Lotsa years of IV smack and scripted cack(adone) was mostly shite all round really. Cos it's kinda circular. Stopping gear is a piece of piss... staying stopped ain't. 'Cept with subbiez anway. For me at least. Was one of the few truly life-changing decisions I ever made to get off the fuckin' smack'n'done wheel and switch to something that genuinely works as it should do. Also the greatest antidepressant ever. And you can get fucked on it. No downside, all upside. For me anyway. I'd seriously recommened it with zero hesitation to anyone trying to kick a nasty poppy presence in their life. Cos it works. And meth doesn't.
