Been watching 'Garth Merenghi's dark place' as of late.

If you like a bit of dry humour it's well worth a watch.
Love it. If you like that kind of humour I'd recommend watching Look Around You and The Armando Iannucci Shows

Am watching a 2007 remake of the film 'The Hitcher',it's ok but the original starring Rutger Hauer was much better imo.

Aye, I discovered that about 10 minutes after making that post lol. I just couldn't be fucked going back & editing it.

Hmm, I'm not gonna comment on his other film Hunger (even though I kind of just have), haven't seen it & don't intend to. I don't think the viewpoint will be the same as mine lol.

I don't like the sound of his films at all tbh. Give me Bullit anyday.

forgot to record that film monsta recommended :(

watched harry brown today though at last and it was pretty good, as others have said, nothing really original.

I liked the scene when harry

NSFW:
stabbed the drug addict that was trying to rob him as though he was jack bauer =D

rewatched Chungking Express today. one of the best 'ode to stalking' movies ever. very hawt.

also watched Rum Diaries which i highly recommend. particularly as it had The Tornado's Telstar featured at the beginning. awesome track

You highly recommend The Rum Diary? Really? Fucking hell. I went on a mad rant about it last night on Facebook. I think at one point I was threatening to post a fresh jobby to Johnny Depp's house so he could look at it for 2 hours as revenge for what he'd just put me through.

At first I thought it was OK. Then the more I thought about it (the more I actually remembered the book), the more I hated it. Fuck The Rum Diary! Fuck it in it's stinking hoop.

My friend offered to help me write a strongly worded letter to someone/anyone involved in it at the weekend. I told her to write the letter, then I'd take it off her at the weekend, take out all the bits that make it good & add a load of useless rubbish to it - which seemed fitting.

Have you read the book? If you've never read the book & don't care about it at all then I suppose it's an OK film. If you've read the book & like Hunter Thompson's stuff then please hate this movie, as it fucking deserves to be hated.

Edit - I think I feel so raging about it because I was one of the people defending it when folk said it was shite or looked shite by saying "They've clearly never read the book & were expecting F&L part 2". Now I would say that anyone who likes it has clearly never read the book. They've fucked it. Big time.

Thanks for that rant Crackhead, I've neither watched or read the book but was thinking of downloading the film the other day but forgot. Think I'll give the film a miss and get the book ordered instead. From your post I'm guessing the book is far better than the film, no?

Yes! & not just in the standard way that the book is always better because there's more detail etc. The book is really short, like 200 pages. Can be read in one sitting. It's a great book but again don't be expecting Fear & Loathing. This was written before HST was really into drugs & to quote some other banger "hadn't quite found his voice" (I wouldn't use chat like that, hence the quote lol). It still has the same HST madness in it though, mainly fuelled by rum & lots of ice haha

It's well worth reading. I would recommend it to anyone.

Sleepers

There is a good film on ITV3 at 11.05pm tonight.
Its called SLEEPERS and stars Kevin Bacon and Robert De Niro.
Its about a group of young boys sent to reform school and the abuse they suffer in there and the revenge they seek out as adults.
Great film and book. Well worth watching tonight if you have the time.

Ooooh nicely mentioned Max :)
I was going to check out "Before The Devil Knows You're Dead" that's on after "The Untouchables" (great to watch it again), but I'm nicely confuzzled now and the thought of Kevin Baayyyyykun going on a revenge rampage for being abused is almost too good an opportunity to pass up on =D

♪♫ A-buse! ♪♫ A-buse! ♪♫ Pick up your revenge shoes! ♪♫

--- Edit ---
Awwww what false sense of security I was lulled into! It's Mr. Bayyyyykun doing the abusing!
Then again, it gives me a justified reason to hate him in this instance.

Just finished watching limitless, interesting film, worth watching. few bits of the plot which baffled me. imagine if the whole planet was on that stuff, we'd end up evolving so fast and inventing some sort of way to space travel, bend space and time and allkinds of crazy shit. teleporters

I really enjoyed Limitless, would have liked to have known more about how the substance came about etc.

What's the film called - centipede of someit, where folks are sewn together mouth to bum? I've wanted to watch that for sometime.

Human Centipede.

Why would you want to watch that? Not only does it sound fucking rotten, it's also meant to be an absolutely terrible movie.

I've got no movies to recommend right now, need something decent to watch though as I'm running out of Boondocks episodes & I'm just gonna stay in tonight & get a smoke.

Don't anyone bother watching Captain America or The Rum Diary, two films I've watched recently, as they are both utter shite.

yeah same, one of the things that confused me was why didn't he start producing the stuff himself,

heard about that human centipede film, sounds really messed up haha

.

Same reason someone would want to look at a prolapse? x

Id have to Kate to cillit bang* my eyes, ears , memory and soul if I watched that and that would definately sting a bit!

*The cleaner **

** makes her sound like a Tarantino character doesnt it?

no-one wants to look at a prolapse tho, that's the thing. that they do look, doesn't confirm approval. mild acceptance that such an image or movie exists maybe, but nothing more. it may also confirm disgust at the same time.
