Opioids Quick help please re safety? thanks

Well done. Please let us know of your progress.

Thanks madog11.

Here's an update.
It's been five days since I last took subutex. I took 1mg on Friday and 1mg the day before.
I was motivated not to use because I thought that the opiates and subutex were adding to my anxiety and depression, and I was looking forward to seeing an improvement now that I have not taken anything for five days.

Unfortunately my anxiety and depression seem to be worsening rather than getting better.

I thought about snorting a line of subutex, but am put off incase it makes my anxiety even worse.

Although I took df118's two days on, and two days off roughly for 6months, I never formed a physical dependency so I had no opiate withdrawal symptoms, which is good, but I really want to see an improvement rather than a deterioration in my anxiety and depression.

Thanks

I actually think you did have some dependancy and the amount of time it has been since you last dosed would fit well with withdrawals. Have you stopped taking the DHC too? Give it a full week from now and everything would have completely cleared your system as subutex takes longer than opiates.

Most likely yes, or it will definately get easier. Whenever you detox off benzo's, opiates, stims., you're still going to have a period after the acute withdrawals where you still wont feel 100%, it's called PAWS (post acute withdrawal symptom )

Thanks, the thing is, I don't think I was addicted to opiates, because when I stopped df118's and subutex, I got no physical withdrawals. This tells me that the addiction was only psychological.

Thank you. Any idea how long it will take? Today was awful and I am glad it's only a few hours from bedtime.
I don't want another day like it, let alone a worse day.

It's a bit strange that I did not give in and take the subutex, given the psychological addiction I have, you would think that taking another 1mg subutex would be the obvious thing to do, but fear of how I will feel the day after has put me off.

Then thats good, your fear is helping you. I would reccomend going to see your doctor, he will have some advice how to overcome psychological addiction. I'm afraid it's a lot harder than physical addiction.

Znegative your a rapid posting retard they shooting subs not Tex subs having naloxone cause w/d just proof alpt posts mean nothing

I'm not shooting subutex, I'm grinding half a 2mg tablet and snorting it.

Yes, Madog, you're right, the fear is helping me in the context of being put off taking more, but when I don't take it, the way I feel makes the day not worth having.
I am connected to a drug agency who mainly deal with heroin users. My benzo addiction is the reason I am with this drug agency, but there is nothing they can do. They hate it when I use. Physical addiction to opiates scared me so much that I felt forced to have regular breaks to avoid it. I always dreaded the breaks, and importantly, each break got worse and worse.
I never had 5 days break like I am having now. I was expecting to feel much better and am dissappointed that I am getting worse not better.
Sometimes I wonder if it is worth staying off drugs in my case.
I don't have a steady soure of dhc or subutex, so staying on drugs does not feel like an option.

I was talking to someone who had used heroin and was on a methadone script, and they agreed with me, that in the UK, there is only help for heroin users, and none for users with other drug problems.

I am in benzo withdrawal and it is so bad that I think it is in-humane to let people suffer like this without offering them something to mask the withdrawals until benzo addicts are recovered from the benzo addiction.
Heroin addicts get scripts to stop their withdrawals, so why can't we?
OK it's another addiction, but you could say the same for heroin users who get scripts.
I bet ten to a penny that subutex or methadone (UK smack substitute scripts) are both far far easier to get off than benzos.

I live in the uk also, and as much as we dont have actual assigned help to suit you, you do have a free doctor (unlike in the states) and the nhs... go and see your gp, he will most likely give you an outpatient pshyc referal... and it would be good for you to have someone help you get over your psychological addiction... methadone clinics only focus on the physical too you need more than that.

Hello fellow Brit

My doctor knows how I feel and is doing all she can by letting me come off valium at a rate that I can control.
I have recently been discharged from mental health services because nothing they did for me worked and they saw no need to keep me on. They know about the bad anxiety and depresion and also about the opiate use.

I just can't wait for my mood to stop deteriorating, and feel worried that it may take ages.
I know worrying does no good, but waking up feeling more like shit than the day before gets scary.

I do think your psyching yourself up and making it worse. Try and google some calming exercises or meditating, i know it sounds stupid but it may actually do you good.

How are you feeling?

Hi, thanks for asking.
I am afraid I used dihydrocodeine again on Friday, (180mg) and have had two days in bed with depression since. The anxiety from the subutex was still with me, preventing me from getting out to do stuff I needed to do.
A friend I know who is also withdrawing from valium is prescribed codeine for pain, they told me that the codeine also gives them anxiety for three days afterwards, and they don't really feel right until after 10 days.
Opiates started out as the odd oasis of anxiety free days, but now I fear them because the post-opiate anxiety has got worse on my days off, even though I am using the same amount as I was 6 months ago, and roughly the same amount (or less).

Well, this anxiety is rapidly putting me off opiates, so even though I have them here, I am not in the least bit tempted.

I'm gonna have to try and wait it out to see if I get any better, and not give up hope after a week cos I didn't feel better last week.

Thanks
