Stoner Tools of the Trade

i've been smoking for more than half my life (15 years and i'm 28 ) and i've recently switched to vaporising my weed.
one of the best moves i've ever made - no turning back. i would seriously recommend investing in a good vape to anybody who loves their cannabis and also has some concern for their health. i've never had a good experience with a cheap vaporiser - it seems you get what you pay for - but i have a vapir n02. portable and easy to use. tastes wonderful, if you find the scent of buds to be agreeable.

they get you stoned in a way that is very different to combusted weed - a little delay then BAM - it hits you, especially if you have a couple of hits in quick succession. it reminds me of those distant memories of having no tolerance to marijuana. fucking excellent.

i know that the harm minimisation message may seem a little dry sometimes - like the 'less fun' option or something, but i fucking love my vape and never want to be without one in my stoner kit ever again.
the rest of my set-up consists of a kief grinder (not quite as fancy as above, but very similar - just fewer teeth/holes - but i love it) that i've had for at least 8 years (my trusty stand-by) a bowl that always has a few bowls worth of ground-up pot in it, and a remnant of my pre-vaping days - a glass spoon pipe and a couple of packs of king-size papers. i went off bongs years ago.

as for whether it is worth investing in a grinder - i say absolutely yes. again, you get what you pay for, but i hate using scissors and get great fluffy piles of bud after a few twists on mine. and the hash it catches - well, that is perfect for those times that you may get caught short by finances or supply. i can't remember the last time i had absolutely nothing to smoke.

my gear consists of a space case, magic flight launch box, silver zig zags and bics. and a pair of scissors.

its all about the purple kush. ive been keeping dosages low and have maintained a low tollerance and still get fuckin high.

still miss the daily Ti BHO tho
 
I like a palm sized glass pipe. I generally smoke by myself. It is much faster to get a nug out of the prescription bottle, crumble it into the bowl and hit it. I can be high as fuck in the time it would have taken me to roll one. Also, with my little pipe, generally one bowl is enough to get me high. If I want to get stoned, two bowls. I don't have to deal with roaches because I smoke everything in the bowl and the few ashes can go down the sink. My weed lasts longer since I started using a personal pipe. I have a bong also. In fact, seeing as I've got U2 Kush, Blueberry and Hindu Kush, I think I will go upstairs and get the bong.

What is the best way to clean my glassware of the resin? My son in law cleans them for the resin when he's out of weed but lately he and my daughter are always on deck. My pipe and my bong need cleaning. What should I use?

I wish, darksidedsam. There used to be a dispensary in Los Angeles that would let patients hit the vaporizer... two full bags for a small fee. I LOVED that thing, and the high was five star first quality. They are closed down now unfortunately, and I can't afford a Volcano right now but if I ever can, I will be one high and happy toker.

rubbing alcohol and some salt does a great job. rinse with hot water after and let dry.

Point 2 - I have a Ti skillet for earwax/oil/candy and I love it!!!!

Point 1 - Great call Ugly!!! Hindu Kush I have seen recently looks amazing. I'll pick some up just to try it out as I <3 all Kush equally. =D I just got a free 18" bong with a 5 arm perc tree in the middle of it, as well I have an 11 arm perc tree ash catcher to go along with it. %)

Point 2 - Isopropyl alcohol + salt (kosher salt works best). Just put the salt in, put the iso in, shake it up, and before you know it, your piece will be clean again.

For bowl pieces to a glass on glass bong, I just clear out the glass on glass section with an isopropyl alcohol wipe (the kind I use to wipe off before I shoot up lol); and it tends to work very well for the smaller pieces.

For a bowl, I just let the resin accumulate. Occasionally I'll blow out of the mouthpiece with no weed packed in (obviously) just to get loose pieces of resin/half burned weed/ash/etc to get out of the way so you don't inhale it on a hit. %)

Personal question - why do you feel your pipe needs cleaning?? While I do clean my bong, I don't clean my pipe out. Unless it was clogging or completely full of resin and I just wanted a cleaner taste, I wouldn't clean out your pipe. :) Just my 2 cents.

There are dispensaries who are OK with patients medicating inside, unfortunately, the city of Los Angeles is unlikely to be housing one at the moment from what I gather.

If you want a more affordable vaporizer, I'd just start buying oil/earwax/concentrates and start smoking out of a ti curve (what kayholed was referring to). Here's a picture:

Maybe if you just need a friend with a Volcano Ugly, I'll buy one and then you can just come over here to chill out. =D %) I'm already going to buy one this year as I have promised myself it. :D

Is that tube yours CH? Is it a Toro 7-13? It looks really good :)

I have only smoked for 2 years as a daily user, but a water-filtration piece is a must for me.

I use my hot wand for flowers and skillet or oil dome for BHO :)
 
I'm thinking this thread can work well as a mega thread, and include cleaning bongs / glass, and minor repair. Thoughts?
 
When rolling a blunt (White Owl, Philly, etc.) I like to lick the whole thing and then make a hole with your thumb and pointer finger and slide it through like 5 times. If your doing it right you look like your jacking off a blunt. This makes the outside stick to inside so it doesn't fall apart on you mid roll.
 
I have a large collection of glass peicies that Ive collected throughout the years of smoking, I perfered bongs for a long time, and now Im down to two bongs of my fave from a 3'footer with a tripple chamber and three percs.

I also own a grinder( makes great value of herbs)

And numerous cases that hold all my stash lol.

I'll post pictures later, but I dont smoke anymore so its going to be different getting the old stash out to take photos lmao.
 
Weed, papers or blunts or both, at least one pipe (preferably at least one pipe, bubbler and bong), good lighters. I also find a unfolded paper clip to be super useful for unclogging pipe and bong stems and getting ash out of pipes. Plus salt and rubbing alcohol for cleaning the pipe.

The things I use every day though- bong, bubbler, papers, lighter, and a paper clip. And of course weed.

There's lots of cool stoner gadgets, but the most fun are the incredible variety of different pipes to smoke with (and all the different weeds to smoke in them). Making good pipes is also really fun.

I have this long skinny pointy titanium stick that I call Pokey I use it to take out the ashes of my vaporizer
 
Captain Heroin, let's burn one. My schedule is fairly open and it would be an honor to medicate with a BLcrewmember. Buy yourself a volcano and I'll bring meds.

I did not understand the picture of the *earwax concentrate* ??

I need to clean one of my favorite palm size pipes because it is stopped up with resin and is no longer smokable. I would like to clean my bong because I don't like the way it smells and I don't like the way it looks. The glass itself is nicely decorated but right now I can't see most of it because of the sticky icky lining the lower half of the bong.

I had some I.E. tonight. (Probably stands for Inland Empire, don't you think, Captain?) It has a really strong high without such bad munchies. I bought four different kinds but now I sort of wish I had got all I.E.
