Are you trying to get clean? Of you are then ya the doctors usually make you wait till you are in withdrawal before you get your first suboxone. When i first got on it I was on dill ( by the way I think the rock to, I couldnt even feel my legs) problem with me is everyone knows about my drug issues so when I go to the ER someone tells the doctors im a recovering addict and now I don't get anything...and im forced to stay on suboxone because it keeps me a good girl if girl know what I mean...
Are looking for pain relief or drug relief? I you just want withdrawal cure then every time you run out wait until you hit withdrawal and feel like shit is coming on take half a sub and you will feel way better..
You're welcome, let me know if you just need to talk too, I'm here, but it sounds lik you got a good friend in pjkt
No, I'm not trying to get clean, I'm on legit rXs for legit pain. Under the care of a dr, etc, etc.. I had a liver transplant a year ago (Jan 21st actually) and I had really bad complications, infections and shit causing really bad pain. I've been on one painkiller or another since like 2004/2005. I have an enlarged spleen bc of the liver disease I had, and the spleen is like the size of a watermelon, so it's too big, it's protruding, like you can feel it down past my belly button.. A normal size is like maybe softball sized? I think. Anyway, mines ridiculously big, and they hoped it would shrink after surgery, but it didn't. So I dunno what they're going to do, I can't imagine being off drugs because sometimes I can't even stand up straight.. :/
After my surgery, I was on Dilauded IV for almost two/three months. So they wanted to get me on oral meds so I could leave and go home. (I as discharged 8 days after surgery, but ended up back in the ER because I had a bladder infection! And that put me in the hospital for almost 3 months, because the pain was terrible, plus I had no nutrition, couldn't really walk, etc, from surgery. So they kept me there. So to switch me to oral pills, they started tapering me down using the IV methadone, replacing my Dilauded doses with that intermittently.. The finally they got me on methadone pills, and I was trying to get off them and be done (cause they originally thought the pain from the spleen would go down when it shrunk). The spleen didn't shrink, so I still needed pain management. The dr put me on Oxys and Ocycontin. And the I dunno how, but one of my drs, can't remember if it was up here or back in FL, switched me back to Dillie's with the OxyContin twice a day for long term, so that's what I'm on now. Not trying to get clean really, so much as trying to decrease my usage.
This month has been kinda bad, I think the cold is really eating to me. (I also had a herniated disk a few years back, and went through PT, had some epidurals, and I think it was good for a while but after surgery, I think bc I'm lying down, resting so much that the pain is coming back, I said earlier, a lot of times I want to stay asleep, but I have to get ou of my bed and go to the couch bc I can't physically sit anymore. Even in the car, driving back from FL with my dad, we could only go 4 hrs a day tops, or my legs would spasm, restless leg, or I'd get really fn nauseas, so a 15-17 hr drive took us 2 1/2 weeks, tho we did take our time and made stops (universal, VA beach, MD, Atlanctic City, lol, so no complaints about length)! So I've had to take a few more than rx'ed. Plus I got my Dillie's Rx early (another story) and I'm trying to hold out for another week til my next appointment, so I'm not always asking for them early. My friend said he could get the sub so I figured I could try it.. Oh well. Didn't work, but now I know they're something I don't want.
Can't wait for my tempurpedic to be delivered!! I hope it helps! And my bratty dog better like it or she can sleep with my dad! (but we all know that's not gonna happen)
Sorry for the rambling.. Let us know how things work out when you find a new dr!
