Best drug for a really big test

I had another trial with this today. Posted my experience in another thread. Here it is

Gave Modafinil another run today. Again they worked brilliantly for studying. Dosed 200mg at 9am, again at 3pm, again at 5pm and AGAIN at 9pm. So 800mg in total.

After my first trial I found that 200mg taken at midday prevented me from sleeping that night. So any other day I'd have just taken the one dose. But I'd planned to stay up all night anyway for a number of reasons, so thought why not.

The first two doses had exactly the same effect as my first experience. Worked like a trooper for about 7 hours straight. Not mental fatigue at all. However after 7 or 8 hours (I'd had 400mg at this point) it became strangely 'moreish'. The third dose even gave me a mood lift and sort of rush. And the fourth did the same but even more pronounced. My focus and motivation on work remained the same as on the first two doses. But since about midnight I've noticed a change. I suppose its a 'comedown'? It feels almost exactly like coming down off mdma, when all the nice bits have worn off, but your brain remains at 100mph.

I'm still able to work fine. Its just now I feel like I've been on/am under the influence of a drug, compared to it feeling almost natural at 200mg. Also since the third dose I've felt my jaw moving/clenching a lot (increasingly so, even now), and my eyesight went funny for a few hours, in that my vision was very sensitive to bright lights (I couldn't read text on a computer screen or phone). Again, this exact thing happens to my vision when I'm at the peak of an mdma experience.

Does this all sound normal? My product is the cheap Modalert version. But it seemed to do what it was supposed to do at the normal dose. Is it just the high dose I have taken throughout the day that led to the jaw movement, altered perception to light and this mdma like comedown I'm experiencing?

That's quite a high dose, your wee must stink.

I've had slight jaw tension on Modalert but I've never taken more than 200mg in a day as I feared the side effects and sleeplessness would outweigh what I was getting out of it.

I've never noticed the urine smell any differently to be honest? Though I don't notice anything when I eat asparagus either.

Won't be doing that much in a day again. The comedown was horrible.

So I've got to sit this exam in a few months. I sat it last year and failed, and I blame my failings primarily on my inability to concentrate towards the end of the exam. Its a marathon of a test. Altogether about 6 hours long, with just a half hour lunch break after 3 hours. For the last hour of the exam I was literally a zombie. My brain had stopped working. I had a double espresso during the break, and plenty of food. But still I crashed.

What specific drugs will help in such a situation? Something that will keep my mind fresh, without inhibiting my mental abilities. It is quite a technical exam.

I've heard of Adderall, Ritalin and Modafinil, but I don't know much about any of them? Which would be most suitable? Or are there any others? Its just something I'll use as a one off. Perhaps use once a week or so before the exam to acclimatize myself with the effects.

Modafil - if its not too late and hasnt already been talked about - its a super drug as far as concentratuion and focus are concerned

whats ethylphenidate like for studying? (ab)Used ritalin when i was at school for essays n that but instead of doing an essay me and a mate would just play minsweeper flags on msn messenger, was fun though ha

Dexys are the best for motivation though, 2x5mg pills and my to do list would be completely finished, plus anything i had to do for the next 2 weeks. Hard to come across though :(

dexies are great for writing essays if you have lots of time, wanna stay awake and wanna be uber concentrated. wouldn't use it for exams though. and don't expect it to solve computers errors like saving over your essays too :( haha

Another recommendation for modalert from me, I managed to get round to trying out the strip that I bought about 2 months ago. Had been up since around 7:30am took 200mg Modalert at around 9pm went to work from 10pm until 8pm, didn't feel any kind of fatigue what so ever. Had taken 3mg Etizolam (no tolerance) throughout the day before taking the Modalert.

Drifted off to sleep around 10am, roughly 13 hours after dosing.

6 hours of concentration is NOTHING. I used to be required to work 16 hours a day, four times a week at full concentration with ZERO break. Have a good night's sleep, a good breakfast and a good lunch both with slow release energy and just get on with it. You don't need drugs.

I'm noticing that people have been using Modafinil for a few days in a row for this kind of thing. How is memory retention with it? I find with amphetamine I could work but my memory was hazy afterwards so in this scenario it wasn't good. Wondering about how Modafinil would be?

Agree

You're joking but I actually did that in uni, woke up late for an exam, rushed out of the house and being in a hurry I took out the wrong wrap from my drawer, it was supposed to be speed but it was actually ket, got to the exam late and went straight to the loo, had a massive line as the speed I had at home was quite on the weak side. When I felt the taste I knew I was fucked, I managed to go sit down and just sat there for an hour being all monged.

When it started wearing off I actually did attempt to write something on the paper but I obviously fucked up the exam. That was a massive day.
