Is it ok to give psychedelics to people at a festival?

Just enough to take the walls of the hospital down?

Can you elaborate on that?

Love and LSD are not truly related in any meaningful way.

And thats also not what i wanted to point out. I don't seem to get my message across. It isn't connected to LSD but maybe more connected to the mentality of giving his stash to people who seem to "deserve" it. But I dont wanna fight or something :)

I wouldn't give anything to people for their first time, no way. There's probably too big a chance that someone unfamiliar with the story behind mushrooms or LSD might say 'what the hell'.
Instead I'd get into discussions with people about such drugs here and there and if they have done it before and have a sensible attitute towards them I don't really see a very relevant argument about it either way. Then it should just be fine, why not?
Hmm maybe one reason why not though is if people have taken psychedelics like these before at non-festival settings, they still might not be prepared to do it at a festival. I think such a decision is something you have to work to yourself and IME it takes tens and tens of trips before such a turbulent setting would be an okay idea and you would keep your shit together. There typically isn't really a fast way out and that bothers me, I think a more free setting is often better and I would never take mushrooms at a festival. But I would take LSD because I stay more rational on that. I've taken it so many times that I know I can handle myself on it even on my own in a crowd.

Thats cool. I like having discussions myself...:) I'm all for giving away psyches but only to people I know. Selling these sort of things feels 'wrong' somehow, but I think they can be a wonderful gift to the right person.

^ There is a distinct feeling of wrongness to selling psychedelics.

It's just something best shared rather than sold in my opinion. I often stock up on decent amounts and then just hand them out to whoever is around and willing, whenever I decide to head down the rabbit hole.

why would selling psychedelics feel wrong? does selling food or shelter feel wrong? only if the person you're selling to has an immediate need-- i wouldn't charge $1 for a sandwich if the recipient is truly starving. But in our society, money = time or effort, and everyone feels better when there is justified compensation for goods or services that are shared. i would feel thankful if someone gave me psychedelics out of the goodness of their heart, but i would feel even better if knew that i could give back to them something that at least showed my measure of value that i attributed to their generosity. of course who could argue that $5-10 is somehow equivalent to the beauty of the psychedelic experience?

How about trading drugs for art or music? It's just like giving away beer-- you expect the recipient to do their part and supply the beer next time.

Call me crazy but I don't measure anythings value on it's price, or using money at all, or at least I try not to.

Say I give someone a tab of LSD and they want to show me that they're thankful, just knowing I was a part of their good night is thanks enough for me.

Again this is just me, but I almost never give anything away unless I can afford to, and am willing to do so without expecting anything in return. I've been doing this a lot lately and have found it creates really positive drug experiences, sharing rather than profiting. Keep in mind that this is just the vibes I get, I have nothing wrong with anyone selling psychedelics, I don't think it's wrong, it's just like you said, you can't really put a price on the psychedelic experience so I just choose not to.

I too feel something inherently wrong in selling or attaching a price to a psychedelic substance. I understand that it is just my personal feeling but to me something that brings that much to the table (knowledge, spirituality, beauty, understanding, whatever the powerful experience is for you) should always be shared freely...

I think passing out free psychs at fests and gatherings is a wonderful, gracious thing to do. It doesn't seem like the OP is talking about just randomly dosing people, but instead gifting this molecules to people who's radiance shines through.

From most peoples reactions to this question I take it that ya'll don't approve of what Kesey and the Pranksters did back in the day, eh?

Well... if you worked many days in a lab to make one, I'm sure you wouldn't feel too bad about getting some return for your effort. This includes the buyer's enjoyment. ;-P
