I love meadows but i didn't watch the this is england series even though i think his movies are really decent. gonna play catch up in the next few weeks.

Smell bird? hmn, there's a chick that keeps popping up on TV in random stuff who's been in a few of the meadows' movies - TV wise off the top of my head she was in the new Ricky Gervais short thingy & shameless UK. I bet she's the oddish looking one that I think is hawt as hell. if it's the one you're talking about, she's insanely erotic looking imo. I love non-generic kooky looking chicks
 
Just watched This Is England '88, wasn't really impressed with it. I can't exactly remember what happened in the '86 one, which is probably not helping. Still, that was about as exciting as an episode of Coronation Street.

I agree. All I remember from 86' is that that girl that went round lols nearish the end got raped by lols dad in a pretty disturbing scene. You're right though, nothing seemed to happen in this episode.
 
That's pretty much my memory of the '86 version. I'm starting to think I maybe wasn't that keen on it then either. I'll probably give tomorrow night a chance, if it's still going nowhere I'll ditch it. Just stuck on a few downloads anyway, fed up of being subjected to shit TV programmes.
 
Oh, she looks fucking horrendous. When I was watching it, with my bird (who also thinks she's shockingly ugly), I remembered your hatred. As for calling her 'hawt', Marmalade - sort it out. She looks like an ugly Lois Griffin. I quite enjoyed the episode. They're clearly just filling in the blanks, before the action kicks off. Woody is brilliant. He's even better in Misfits. He has such a lovable, twatish personality - just like our resident Part timer.

Bit sick of the characters in that series now, cant stand shaun. Woody and milky are the only ones I can watch without wanting to punch their heads off.

i genuinely think she f'ing cute. very 60's, different [possibly like marmite I guess, by the sounds of all your whinging ;p], but not unappealing unless she's specifically made to look that way. definitely one of those faces that can come off as unattractive if it's played on in the wrong way, and can look odd from certain angles. she's got her head shaved in the original movie and made to look gawpy and punked to look unladylike, and half retarded.

take away all that styling to make her look retarded and she's mega cute. I'm not at 'sporting lady-boner' levels by any stretch, but she's hot.

i think images taken of her from above seem to be really unflattering, she looks better face on or from below, which is opposite to how it is for a lot of peeps. dunno

from the Shane Meadows site - seems natural/comfortable, non stylized or heavily made up either way. and pretty cute

Agreed. That wee Shaun cunt is annoying as fuck. Lol is an absolute boot & what the fuck has happened to Kelly? She was SMOKING in the last series but she looks rough as fuck now.

Marmalade - She clearly looks like she has something wrong with her. I'm almost sure she has some sort of birth defect, I guess disability isn't really the right word but you know what I mean. Slight deformity. There's probably a name for it.

when it comes to breaking her features down ... which isn't something I normally try to do but whatever ... her chin is tiny, and she has a big mouth and very big [awesome imo] eyes. they combine to make her very 'unique', I don't dispute that. she has oddness. it's played on by meadows. wasn't so much in Shameless or the Gervais thing. i get where you're all coming from though. she isn't 'traditionally' attractive.

she's got a great cute 60's pixie vibe going for her tho imo, which really reverts the above just to kooky and different, for me. and they're both things I find attractive

I like the odd girl in Misfits too tho =D ... the one with the gobby & filthy mouth. I guess she's not considered 'fit' by most peeps either?

Really hoping This is England picks up tonight I'm giving it 20mins max, if it's still shit I'm bailing on it. That's nearly half the series that hasn't been intresting so the other half will be unlikely intrest me either.

I'm watching Steve Jobs: Billion Dollar Hippy at the moment.

Its total shit IMO The irish character with the curly hair makes it unwatchable for me, I only lasted 30mins into the first episode.

that guy left last season, and has been replaced!

season 3 picks up with a new guy who's much better, and I think you'd find 'im far more doable ;p

he's the lead from This Is England [pic below]

you can pick up season 3 without needing to see the previous ones. it's a very simple set up/premise

it's decent enough. and can be really funny. not astonishingly awesome consistently or anything, & it's mainly a series made for lulz rather than any in depth complex characters or an epic plot, but it's one of those shows that hasn't been 'familied' and toned down, and has realistic banter and whutnot, and shows like that are few and far between and worth sticking with if it's got a decent storyline and halfway decent writers.

I started watching American Horror Story Last night, I am enjoying it so far. Im only 3 episodes into it but I am going to watch some more tonight.
