KEEP IN MIND, I never once used ANY of these drugs daily, Adderall is for weekdays when used therapeutically
Adderall is only for the weekends, huh? But you're a smart guy, so surely you've thought about how productive you can be if only you did take it every day. Right? And maybe your course load right now isn't so overwhelming, but once you've got more things to do in a day than there's time for... I'm willing to bet that you begin popping that shit every day. Oh, man, and that's when the real fun begins...
I've done a lot of drugs, man. I do dope pretty regularly, almost every day, and I've been using opiates for almost two years now. Believe me when I tell you that nothing has grabbed me in the same way that Adderall did. You become so used to running at full-speed all the time that once you kick the Adderall, whether you taper or cold turkey, you feel so ridiculously unmotivated, incapable, and stupid. It took me months and months and months to begin feeling right again, and I'm still not sure that I'm 100% The depression is un-fucking-real and that's probably why I started to do dope so often. It's a slippery slope, my man...

Well that might have been a bit different, then.
I'm staying at a relative's house for 8 days (well technically 7 days, now.)
They aren't going to go through my luggage
Here's a timeline, if you want to see it...

I've got 10 left to use (3500mg), I'll save those for social situations, or sleep then I save 4 for the flight (1400mg)
I realize I'm taking heavy amounts of Soma lol... I should look up Somas toxicity
If only I wasn't so tolerant to benzodiazepines
I totally agree. That said its important to remember there are people who slave over education just to earn the right to be able to determine just when that is (Physicians, Surgeons, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians Assistants, Psychologists, etc.).Drugs give our bodies the ability to reach states of extremes that we could never achieve naturally. Drugs can be used to help concentration, relaxation and motivation. To say they have no use and cannot be used to promote a healthy lifestyle is shallow minded.
Drug use becomes a problem when your life is dedicated to drugs.
When every thought: Drugs
Every conversation: Drugs
Going to a party: Are their drugs there?
This goes for alcohol as well. When you have to get out of the bed, and have a drink in order to keep from having horrible anxiety the whole day. Or take and adderall, to maintain cognitive function and maintain motivation.
I only see a dozen drugs that legitimately benefit society in a positive way. I will not name them, because in drug culture people run on the idea, "If I've done it before, it's a good drug"
My own father, a conservative, describes how attivan changed his life and is "a good drug" yet he turns around and bashes Xanax and Valium, without any knowledge that they are from the same family, and probably wouldn't even recognize the difference between the three.
(While I do not, however, support the criminalization laws.)
Drug criminalization laws are not all bullshit. They exist, because for the most part our populace runs on instinct rather than logic. Is it logical to become an amphetamine abuser or heroin addict? In the short term these things are incredibly pleasurable, but in the end the pleasure you feel today will equal the pain of tomorrow.
Watch it. I take Adderall and Oxycodone every morning so I can function well..I have legitimate prescriptions but that does not mean I don't question if I need them...I mean how am I any different than the guy who does a similar speed ball except with methamphetamine and heroin so he can function albeit at a lower level or whatever? I have days where I may not take these products and I do this to see how psychologically dependent I am...I have been going a few days without the Adderall with only tiny amounts here and there so I will consider discontinuing it soon and see how it goes, you have to be willing to be able to do that if you genuinely think you do NOT need them anymore. As for my oxycodone, that's a bit more complicated...I feel dirty for taking oxycodone and my doctors office's staff makes sure of that apparent from there dirty looks and the only reason the pharmacist doesn't give me dirty looks anymore is because I know him. However, I have had severe chronic pain for the past 2 years from two documented illnesses that I won't list but I'll give you this; its like living with cancer pain minus the release of death. I went 2 years taking non-narcotics everyday with minimal relief. Finally I was put on Vicodin and Percocet and it helps the pain so I can function better...I won't lie I love the euphoria from it, love nodding off to sleep, but those are just side effects and secondary pluses and NOT the main goal of why I take it. If I were to double up on oxy everyday my tolerance would sore and I would be short on meds for half of the month and unlike people without chronic pain I would be in some pretty bad hurt. One BAD thing about oxy is sometimes I'm in school and the euphoria is strong and I start to nodd off a little, yes its annoying because its distracting but I would be hard pressed to not take the pills because I wouldn't be able to sit in a chair for more than 5 minutes without writhing in pain. Also even writing this I feel slightly fuzzy in thinking hence why I keep clicking the edit button...it sucks but theres a trade off. Also with time as obviously known by most a normal dose of opiates will not be as effective....I can not use 5mg of hydrocodone for pain anymore it simply does not work and to even get a buzz off of it I would probably have to take 3x that, I am not going to do that I have too many other things to worry about. ALWAYS look at your reasons for "doing drugs" which I put in quotes because now a days that can mean illicit or licit which has become to blurred its not even funny.Well, I am a stimulant guy
I know people do it, but I don't understand the whole high off Adderall concept. I think ive just been on it for a while. If I were to take a shit ton of Adderall (and I could, I literally have 2 bottles of instant release 10's I didn't need) I would end up just cleaning my room, finishing my homework, the curing cancer while listening to hardcore techno with a pulse of like 120 while constantly checking my doorway from paranoia... Lol. Well to each there own. I will say I have taken maybe 5-10mg extra to stay awake but even then that was what was prescribed to me for if I woke up early and the XR wore off late in the day. Idk what else to say just be smart. I'm pretty smart too so I understand dosing better than most docs, at least for my self so I might titrate up if needed then tell my doctor shortly after.
What drug improves your 'quality of life'? Herb makes you think kinder. Heroin causes you to have no worries - except running out of heroin. Stims boost your confidence and make you love everyone while the comedown offers just the opposite, which makes you appreciate the changeability of perception. Psychedelics give you a glimpse into a bigger beyond. All can enhance your 'quality of life' if used correctly.
The drugs that do you the least good are the pills doctors are fond of handing out and alcohol, which is legal. Says something about our social culture, perhaps.
quote for fucking truth.I disagree with a lot of statements being made in this thread. There is NO doubt that stimulant use can be a very slippery slope if you don't manage it carefully. But, there are plenty of people who use it responsibly (such as myself) and take breaks (at least the weekend) to recuperate. Eating right, exercise, etc. are all apart of the regimen. I think it's too easy to automatically label someone an addict or a potential addict based on the drug they indulge in.
Sure, I'm not as motivated without the use of amphetamine but that doesn't mean I can't be without it. Does that mean I'm an addict? I think the definition is becoming a bit cluttered. Isn't the definition of an addict, someone who wakes up and can't function without said drug? Not being condescending...I am truly interested in hearing thoughts on this. I am a bit confused by how we are defining ones lifestyle.
Cheers
