Stop resisting!
Baker County authorities thought they were making a routine grow house bust on Wednesday. What they found inside the mobile home was far more disturbing. Troy Howell, 29, had chained his 18-year-old nephew to a bed to try and stop him from alerting others to the pot growing operation.

Howell had managed to set up an elaborate marijuana growing operation in the small mobile home outside of Jacksonville. Police found more than 100 plants and 15 pounds of processed marijuana.

Howell had apparently become worried that the 18-year-old would rat him out, so he decided to chain him to the bed.

"Troy had basically tied a chain to the axle of the trailer and ran it under the floor and actually tied him up around the neck in his bedroom there," Sheriff Joey Dobson told Jacksonville.com

Got a feeling the cops will be using this story for a long time trying to convince young kids what happens when you get involved with weed..........

Thinking about it, it would be better to be imprisoned with loads of weed around, assuming you could at least eat it.

The poor kid that was chained up was probably a straight razor not doing any drugs because if he was remotely in any way into weed, his uncle would have given him a job cultivating & paying him in weed..............:) any pot smokers dream.

Kid was probably like, um, uncle, whats that smell, then looked into the room & saw weed & said, drugs are bad, im telling mom............& then uncle jumped on him & said, you're not going anywhere.

yeah, cause people that do stimulants are innately evil.

I don't think that was what rincewindrocks was trying to say..

But, stimulants are widely known for causing paranoia, factor in the lack of sleep, and the psychotic breakdowns and yeah. stimulant users can turn out pretty damn evil.

He should've tried to contain the kid long enough to get rid of all of his shit or move it to a secure location then let the kid go. If the kid tried to come up with some shit, dude would've been fine but that didn't happen and he's probably facing serious time.

I just say that in that if the kid went to the police, the guy would be facing a lot of time in jail and in that scenario, he probably wouldn't have been able to stop the kid from going otherwise in that the kid was probably in a panic and not thinking properly. This is all assuming the kid was going to the police of course. I would just rather stop the kid and cover my tracks then let him go than say screw it and wait to go to prison for a long time.

I don't think you can justify imprisoning anyone, in that situation you just have to cut and run.

Well what are you supposed to do when you are certain someone is going to tell? It's a tough situation. It's not easy to just cut and run when you have all that infrastructure set up. I guarantee if you are sitting in jail with an impossible bail and facing felony trafficking charges, you're going to wish you had been a lot more thorough with the white knight.
