I've been on it for 9 months now...100mg 4x daily. Until just the other night, I could find NO recreational value to the drug. I was hurting pretty badly the other night and I had only taken 2 doses so I took 200mg. An hour later, I was still hurting pretty badly, so I took another 100mg. Maybe an hour after this, still in pain, I felt effects similar to taking an extremely low dose of hydrocodone. If you're going to do an opioid recreationally, you might as well just go for vicodin (hydrocodone), morphine, or oxycodone (perhaps codeine as suggested above since you can actually feel an altered perception from 100mg, but I've found codeine has done nothing for me the few times I've tried it). Someone told me this when I was abusing DXM (in the form of robotussin) A LOT-like 4-5 times per week, and by abusing, I mean drinking an 8 oz bottle at a time-DON'T DO THIS!!!-anyway, when I was doing a shit ton of DXM all the time, someone told me, "If you're going to get addicted to a drug, at least get addicted to a real one. I'm not saying that you should go out and become a meth head or anything like that, but do you really want to be known as the guy that got addicted to cough syrup?" While I did continue to use DXM a little while after all that, that did stick with me, and I wasn't on the cough syrup for much longer.
Don't get addicted to tramadol; the cons outweigh the pros. When I first started taking tramadol, I did feel minor psychoactive effects (I wouldn't say it was anything more than slight drowsiness.), but those were gone after the first 4 or 5 days. It really isn't worth it at all IMO, lol. I would just stop using this shit if I were you. I prolly sound like the pot calling the kettle black, but I use it medicinally. I've got back problems one wouldn't expect until they were 50 years of age or older and I'm 19. And really, for proper pain management, I need at the very least 20mg hydrocodone 3-4x daily or something else. Even with all the gabapentin, flexeril, and tramadol I take (180 pills, 90 pills, and 240 pills per month respectively), I still sit at a pain rating of 5 ON AVERAGE, and that's not even taking into consideration the times like this where I'm sitting at a 6.5; I literallly feel as though there is a spear sticking directly into the right side of my back at the waistline every time I move-even if it's something as simple as adjusting the way I'm seated in the recliner right now. But I've gotten off topic and this is your thread, so I'll shut my bitching the fuck up (lmao), and end with saying:
DON'T GET ADDICTED TO TRAMADOL! IT'S NOT WORTH IT IN THE LEAST BIT
You may not be hurting yourself at the current moment, but why risk it with a drug like this? If you want to be a weekend warrior, do it with something that's less addictive and has a greater psychoactive side effect profile. Tramadol is bad for you physically just like any other opioid. It might not be as potent, but remember that you're taking 100mg of this chemical for it's effects instead of 16mg of hydrocodone to get the same (ANALGESIC) effects (and 16mg of hydrocodone feels a lot better than 100mg of tramadol to me).
But I've droned on too long and I hope I didn't go so long to where no one reads this, but I'll put my basic message in bold below this so maybe it will catch attention lol.
DON'T GET ADDICTED TO TRAMADOL!!!!!!!
