If you haven't heard about the nationwide protests by now then WAKE THE FUCK UP!! Starting September 17th in New York, and spreading throughout the country thousands have started protesting the overwhelming corporate greed and political corruption thanks to the corporations, CEO's, lobbyists, and politicians

Hundreds of peaceful protestors have been arrested, pepper sprayed and beaten in New York, Boston and Washington D.C. all for practicing our constitutional rights. soldiers who fought for this country come home and are ordered to assault the very same people they fought and died for to protect.

What are your thoughts on the movement? Do you agree? Disagree? Think you could do it better? Honestly at first it was more like a free for all for anyone who wanted to bring awareness to whatever their cause, and the message got pretty clouded. Since then we've become much more organized.

Personally I'm supportive 100%, I've attended the rally's, marches, as well as camped out in a few pf the parks. Weve arranged medical tents with licensed professionals, food donations, living areas, trash pickups, lavatories, and one of the parks even had a functioning library and an area with hundreds of donated jackets, sweaters, pants, shirts and anything else we need while living in the parks...all done by the people supporting the movement. They've even started printing our own newspaper.

Theres a chance we can really make a difference, but we need everyone's support. This country was formed because the people werent happy with what they lived with and wanted something to change. We are the 99% and we are the majority

heard about em

Love em

they started one in Dallas

i wanna go down n do it

but with school and work i cant

i feel as though i should

but cant bring myself to go down there n stay

you sound like you've been fairly involved

what can one do that doesnt involve devoting all their time sitting around? throw out some links, sure there are plenty who want to join but dont know how much time they can spare

protesting will do nothing if they dont suggest ways to fix their problems..you cant say you dont like something and protest it without having an idea how to fix it..which right now it seems like the people potesting are just doing it to protest and are expecting the people who make the laws to comeup with a plan which will never happen..they need someone to step up and say this is how you fix our problems, not sit in a ircle complaing but doing nothing to help their cause

watch bill clinton on letterman from last night..he basicall said the same thing i said but did it more presidential and made alot of sense

there really is no way to fix it at this point it's too far fucked. The only to get past it is for everyone to stop participating in it all together. I think that's the whole point that is why everyone is just hanging out living life and not doing shit at all. If everyone in the entire country started doing this and just not partaking in this overly corporate life with all of it's stupid rules and procedures themselves, it would eventually reset itself. Kind of what the hippies did back in the day, saying fuck off to everything mainstream and organized and started living life for themselves. It actually changed a lot simply by just not trying to fix the problem. If the problem is with the current structure of life, if you live outside of it and get enough others to do so, it eventually will start to crumble and it will only be able to rebuild itself in a way that does work.
Any problem just goes away if ignored long enough.... we all know that... (kind of kidding but not really)

PS: i realize that probably made no sense at all but I have a good thought in my head and just can't say it. I blame the drugs.

anyway you cut it we are fucked..ask yourself how did we become so rich and powerful?

well we where the manufactures and producers of everything and exported it out.. but we got so far ahead that we became too good and too rich to work hard, so they give the work to the people who want it the most, the people overseas who have nothing and by doing that 1000 workers in america get laid off and 3000 in china get hired cause they wull work for that much less and by doing that we triple our production while cutting costs..and since we are making that much more money we dont mind paying money to ship our own product home

until we stop outsourcing, we will be forever fucked and that includes europe...china and india are so big with so many people that they will never get to the point of need to outsource their factories, they will keep getting richer and only go threw times like this bc of america being so broke that they have to shut down factories and production overseas causing them to lose jobs cause we have no money to spend

bring back our factories and thats how we will turn or economy around

I go to school full time and work and I chose to head over on my day off a while ago...and honestly at first I kinda walked around, didn't really know what to do...but eventually you watch people doing interviews and listen to what others are saying and doing, and it's kinda hard not to get sucked into the energy of the whole thing

I made my sign, signed up for whatever they needed volunteers for, and just played the whole thing by ear. It's easy to get involved, anyone there's more than willing to help, and everyone I met was awesome

CHINKY- your right about not a whole lot getting accomplished, thats how it was at first..but with more people getting involved and the steady increasing organization they've been slowly getting more focused and goal oriented rather than just stand in a park and hold a sign

To anyone that wants to get involved: this whole thing started with around a dozen people camping out and the Internet...and it's spread to this. If there's nothing goin on around you, then start something. Chances are your surrounded by people who agree with you...and I guarantee you'll meet a bunch of beautiful people

I would totally be behind occupying wall street, if for the fact it wasnt a ploy for the socialist side of the N.W.O. to try to establish more control on capitalism.

Wall Street and the "free market" is not the problem, it is the bankers and the FED!!! ( who btw is a private organization masking as a government run org. ) The fed, the IMF, and the fact we are not on a gold standard and allow currency and market manipulation via dirvitives are the major problems.

IF anything lets oust the fed and get our country back in control of the people, not the False BANKERS of the IMF

Oh yeah could also be a gov. / cia ploy to cause more and a larger push on terriost issues by making terriosts no longer just arabs but " revolutionarys" from our own country......

Hum sounds to me quite a bit like what happened in the ARab SPring countrys.

There are a lot of things wrong. Bankers are wall street. They created a housing bubble that when it burst caused millions of Americans to lose their homes/jobs, and many of employees in completely other countries lost their jobs as well. Presidential advisors are ex bank CEO's, Hank Paulson was a CEO for Goldman Sachs before he was treasurer. there are ex Goldman Sachs CEOs working as the head of business departments at different universities and colleges, and they control teaching their students on working against regulation policies. This is what our youth is being taught in school, and the banks donate money to these programs and are involved with the schools so when they graduate where do you think the best go? To banks where their sole purpose is to make money. I can go on for a while but its everywhere

To me the Occupy Wall Street people sound disorganized and without any true purpose. Everyone I've talked to in the Occupy movement doesn't have a freaking clue what they want. It's insanity, if you're going to protest at least know what it is you desire.

What it is you desire past, "Oh yeah the banks man, the government man, it's all screwed up man..."

Annoying.

Sadly I hate to say it, AMERICANS for the most part ARE STUPID, DO NOT CARE and where never taught how or why to think.

Sure they learned kinda how to "learn" but thinking, thought, and the reasons and needs for it elude the vast majority of my country.

To take over and try to take down the entire institution that holds us as private citizens livelihoods with the exception of the few lucky self sufficient land owners left. Over 70% of Americans now rent, and I am guessing less that like 10% of the 30% that "owns" land are not indebted upon mortgages or something in that regard.

One thing that I feel keeps getting overlooked in this whole process is our money is worthless no backed by anything but our "faith" in the government, and with the expansion of the digital age people figured out how to create more false "value" then paper money that existed......

IMHO it all goes back to American's being stupid and the socialist new world order agenda that began to be instituted in the mid-60's after Kennedy was murdered.

I agree that they sound disorganized, but I think that they are becoming more organized. A number of people expressed what they wanted to achieve, but now everybody has to get on the same page. The protests have narrowed their scope at least. At first, people were protesting about all different things, but I think that with the occupy websites up, a clearer goal should be seen.

I think the main thing is that everybody wants the wealthy to have to pay more taxes, which would put more money back into the economy. I think that it is the easiest thing that can be done. I think the protest is basically so that the government no longer feels the need to cater to the wealthy since they were always the most powerful. If the middle-class gain power though organization, then there are hopes that the government will cater more to them.

With you on that, but if the wealthy whom own the country pay more taxes back to themselves how much does it really help the econ. unless the government is in some way employing us, instead of us working for and employing ourselves which is the power and right I feel we should be fighting and demanding!!

^ I think the wealthy taxes would help pay off our huge national debt, which I think would help increase the value of the dollar. I think that is what I remember hearing on the news and other shows at least.

The huge national debt, with the exception of them robbing social security to pay for the war on terror, the national debt which we owe is to the rich themselves....... Who else loaned us the money?! and in trade for what?

I thought we owe China. The rich needed bail-outs from the government, which contributed to debt.

I'm no history/government wiz, in fact I have little interest in them, so I am not very knowledgeable in those areas.
