What great band have you just discovered?

Emperor X this random band from Arizona

"Shut up,
Shut Shut up,
Shut Shut up,
You're not dying inside.
Shut closet, shut in.
Shot brother.
Take a bullet, son- come on in!"

This is an interesting one:

Have any of you, out of shear boredom if not otherwise morbid curiousity, googled people you used to know, just to see what they are up to/how they are doing? Not stalkerish in any means, just simple curiousity.

Well, I did this the other day to an old buddy of mine from grade school. Turns out, he is in this REALLY cool indie band based out of Brooklyn, called Inouk. Really cool sounding shit...Radiohead/Led Zeppelin like.

Check it out: www.inouk.net

I've recently rediscovered Seether. Their new album is a great leap forward form their first. Much more melodical, much more heartfelt. And what's good about it is that they still retain the same elements that first drew me to them, only toned down somewhat.

And another great band to check out is My Chemical Romance. They are actually pretty damn good; at first I din't like them, but I sat down and listened to them and they are great muscians. If your into the New Jersey sound (screamo/punk/emo type stuff accompanied by strong melodies and sweeping crescendos) you should check them out.

Vader. I really like this style of metal and I haven't heard of many bands similar to them. I heard them on the radio (surprisingly) and I liked it. The song Litany is pretty badass. Thats the style I'm looking for!

I'm slowly getting back into metal.

Another day another band. Today I was watching Warped Weekend on Fuse and saw a video for Saosin. They are the shit. Rareform had told me about them a while back, but I hadn't heard them until today. Thanks Rareform. I like.

The Starseeds
some of the most breathtakingly beautiful richest sublimest Ambient i've ever heard! aye~meee. *blissful sigh* somes of their stuff has spoken word jazz stuff in it? i think? yea.

that's another thing i've just discovered! Spoken Word Jazz!!! i mean, i knew i had heard it before , but i didnt know it actually had a name! Ken Nordine has this groovy album called Colors, it's all spoken word jazz. :)

Swarm of the Lotus

Thine Eyes Bleed

check these bands out, you metalheads.

I've found myself fairly obsessed with the Decemberists' Picaresque album lately.

Not too late. They're on fucking fire these days. Be on the look out for the live CD/DVD release coming out this fall. I was lucky enough to attend two of the shows and it is going to be a monster.

ten years ago i would never have thought i'd see someone talking about a band on Kill Rock Stars' label. the first act they signed were UNWOUND. everyone should check them out. when they first came out in about 93 or 94 i thought they were the heir apparent to Nirvana. alas, pop culture failed to continue on the correct route opting instead to sell a bunch of eddie vedder wannabes. unwound probably wouldn't have signed with a major label anyway

albums include: New Plastic Ideas, Fake Train, Leaves Turn Inside You

songs to download: envelope, summer freeze, all souls day, valentine
