The Stranglers are one of the most underrated bands of the 70s & 80s imo. They were never fully accepted by the punk community because they were basically a bunch of old hippies inspired by The Doors. But to me, they embraced the punk ethos much more than the Sex Pistols who were just a boy band manufactured by Malcolm McClaren...
