Found one of my suburban patches raped yesterday when I went to check on its health. It really sucked to see the mycelium ripped up in spots, but there was also something cool that happened. Another (obviously) respectful picker had left a pair of scissors on the garden bed - it seemed as if they'd come down, found the patch in a bad state, cut a few shrooms that were left by the troll, and left the scissors as a sign of how to treat nature well. I'm going to hope that if others return, they'll leave the scissors there for other pickers too.
My friend and I have been joking about how we could somehow erect a sign that says "USE SCISSORS", so it was funny that somebody had left a pair, which was the next best thing. :D
