Drug documentaries on TV / Internet

^ I have been watching that on National Geographic lately and it is pretty good, it isn't completely unbiased but it is much better than many (the meth one was pretty biased but its hard to think of any unbiased ones..) I particularly liked the one on heroin.

It is on at 8.30pm on Monday's and I think they re-run it at the same time on Thursdays. There have been 3 episodes shown so far and they were heroin, methamphetamine and cocaine, in that order.

Thats the torrent if anyone wants it.

Part I: Cocaine.

The supply chain of cocaine stretches around our world, bringing vast wealth to a few ... and misery to millions. Follow its trail through the eyes of peasant farmers producing cocaine paste, a trafficker tied to Mexican cartels and a 28-year-old crack dealer in Miami's poorest neighborhood. And literally see the true nature of cocaine addiction via revolutionary brain photography in a leading lab in Brookhaven, N.Y.

Part II: Meth.

Some call methamphetamine the "Devil's Drug." Often made in less than an hour from a common cold remedy, this powerful stimulant is sweeping across the U.S. and Asia. Follow a raid on a suspected meth lab, stake out a neighborhood pharmacy where addicts attempt to accumulate cold and flu pills, and meet a neuroscientist urgently searching for a cure for addiction. See the dangers of meth and the unexpected physical damages caused by the drug.

Part III: Heroin.

Heroin can be life threatening, claiming the lives of numerous victims. Follow this opium derivative as it begins in a remote Afghan heroin lab that processes the raw materials and then on to Chicago, where a dealer demonstrates its final preparation for street sale. Gain insight into its insidious powers from users, and witness a police raid on a heroin distribution network in New Jersey. Plus, go inside one radical attempt to combat heroin's social costs by supplying it free to addicts.

Part IV: Marijuana.

Cannabis is the most widely used illicit drug on the planet. To many, it's an evil weed, but to some, it's a sacred herb, even a lifesaver. For decades the global supply was controlled by criminals, but now a quasi-legal industry worth billions of dollars is booming. Visit growers who are leading a horticultural revolution, hear from users consuming for medicinal purposes, go inside the "Green Rush" of medical marijuana in cities across the U.S. and the violent marijuana cartels in Mexico.

Thanks for posting links to nice documentaries but they have already been posted in this thread somewhere if i remember correctly.

This one is from a show called masterminds. It deals with a bunch of guys who organise a big weed importation sydnicate. The catalyst for the importation is a guy who should be synonymous to us all.

^ Note iview only maintains shows for streaming for about a fortnight before removing them. There are ways to download the files though if you're feeling sneaky ;)

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that, cheers Belarki. It's a shame they don't have some sort of archive. It should be available on iview for 4 weeks though.

But yes, there are "ways and means" around this :)

Oxy: The Hidden Epidemic, from Four Corners 27-09-2010.

Interesting story about the misuse, prescription and monitoring of prescription medicines in Australia, focusing on oxys.

I watched this Doco and found it very intereting, it has given me some food for thought in relation to my work. I am wishing I had of recorded it when I watched it but unfortunately I didn't. Currently I am trying to locate a copy of this doco for download but so far can only find ones I have to pay for....any one know how I get a copy of the doco for free or is that not possible

Thanks Leis

My nets running shit as at the moment because all my downloads are used up. But I was wondering if the documentries from when "hungry beast" did drug week. Can't remember seeing those through this thread and they should definately be added. I'd search them up myself but as I said nets running mega slow. Highly recommended
