IME Nurofen+ that you buy in Australia is not splittable anymore. CWE is the better option anyway IMO
 
I soooo miss the N+ splits :\ But at least I take much less codeine now as a result :)
 
NO, it is not splittable. Learn to do CWE and buy panafen plus because it is a better brand to use than nurofen plus. Make sure you hone technique using ibuprofen/codeine pills and not paracetamol/codeine pills as ibu OD is alot less dangerous. Refer to codeine thread for info on how to CWE, there is one in OD and here in AusDD.

I just did a CWE today with 8 panadeine fortes (30mg). Basically just crushed them, dissolved in warm water, cooled in the freezer until just starting to ice over then filtered through a tea towel (no filters available). Then rinsed the glug with more water and repeated. What do you suppose the odds are of ingesting too much paracetamol? The final product cloudy white with just a fine layer of solids sitting at the bottom. I had a tooth extracted yesterday so have had a fair bit of paracetamol over the last few days, but none today. I guess even if I somehow got ALL of the paracetamol into the mix even then it wouldn't be too bad because its still within the maximum daily limit, no? But I am 100% certain that only a small % of the paracetamol would have got through. What do you think, safe enough?

Also, regarding dose, I'm 100kg male, will 240 mgs be enough, too much? I doubt there would be the full 240 as I would have left some in the glug (it still had a bitter taste even after the second rinse). I tried it last night with 180 mg but didn't get much of a buzz. If this lot doesn't get me is it worth eating the last two without doing a CWE?
 
No takers? I just necked it and even though I filtered it again through some finer material I'm getting paranoid I just drank a shite load of APAP! 8o
 
haha i wouldn't of been able to help you as iv wanted to know the exact same thing but let us know how it goes and if ur liver survives.
 
Well, I'm mildly toasted but nothing spectacular, so the dosage was about right, probably could have gone higher. Have 2 left might just eat them. If my liver hasn't collapsed by this time tomorrow I'll let you know =D
 
Bit pattern I wouldn't think too much paracetamol would of got in your solution, you should be fine. I reccomend beginners start using ibuprofen products as ibu OD isn't quite as bad as para OD so its just a little safer but using panadeine fortes is pretty safe because there isn't much paracetamol to begin with.

I don't think 240mgs is a very big dose for a 100Kg guy but you can always dose more next time and its best to err on the side of caution. Enjoy mate. :)
 
Cheers, that's the sort of soothing reassurance I was after. But, now the codeine has kicked in a bit I'm much more relaxed about it all. Might even eat the last two tabs =D
 
Havnt done codeine for awhile now, havnt really been that sucessful but wouldnt mind giving it another try. Just wondering if its safe to do it, if im taking 30mg of Avanza (Mirtazapine) nightly?

might try doing a CWE on a 24 pack of n+ and see how I go assuming its safe to do so

This has been mentioned many times before, don't use Nurofen Plus. The pills need a lot more water so not to make a gluggy mess as well as a not so clear solution at the end. Also with every ml of water you use to filter the pills the more ibuprofen you are ingesting.

^Ok, ill stick to chemist owns then. thanks madmick for the info, did a quick google search but didnt find to much information, ill try a small dose of 60mg and see how I react before I choose to do a big dose

That's odd, all of the posts above you advise to use ipuprofen over APAP

The only reason I have doubts is because I've been told two different things in the same thread - can you clarify, should I be using ibu or APAP, because atm I don't have a clue and I wouldn't know where to begin looking for solubility data.
