The Big & Dandy Bufo Alvarius Thread

By saying that you own and milk those toads for venom you're confessing possession and asking for a charge of animal abuse which maybe you could defeat- in court, once you'd paid for a lawyer.

guessing your joking because im pretty doubtful I could get a knock on my door for toad juice, I believe 5-MeO-DMT is unscheduled anyways.

people milk snakes of their venom but no one bashes down their door at 4am for it...

but yea, 5-MeO-DMT isnt specifically scheduled, but they could still get you under the analog act...

Does anyone here own a Bufo Alvarius toad?

I was wondering how much of the dried venom must be smoked in order to produce the effects of the 5-Meo-DMT contained therein.

Also, is there any way of further purifying the venom to extract pure 5-MEO-DMT?

Just buy some 5meo or extract froma plant source & spare the poor wee toad.

well........
bufo alvarius toad venom contain more than just 5-MeO-DMT...it also contains Bufotenine, which is a schedule 1 drug.
Was on wikipedia and it mentioned a man who was arrested and charged in kansas for possesion of a controlled substance when the cops found toad venom on him.....

I feel a bit uneasy using a living creature to produce drugs. It seems exploitative to me. Thats just IMO.

I suppose then, that raising chickens in a chicken coop for their eggs is exploitative as well. Are you perchance a vegan?

Seems symbiotic to me too
I always thought toads were infamous for them being licked to get high, that's what I was told when I was a young boy. I don't think it would be worth the trouble squeezing the toads boils for drugs though. Can't you just lick your little companion?

i believe he is a vegetarian actually, lol

and B9 does NOT approve of milking toads for venom. therefore go out and find yourself some 5 meo dmt and leave the little creature alone.

No, you can't... if I recall there are toxins in the venom that break down upon evaporation. So accepting liquid venom into your body would do what it is supposed to, injure and/or kill you.

And the notion that milking toads is "symbiotic" would be laughable if it weren't so insulting.

The venom is very different than straight up 5-MeO-DMT.....

It's very very very strange....that's all I can say. It's an experience

i have personally witnessed a B. Alvarius toad being milked and it had a totally serene look upon its face. i swear it did not even blink, it seemed totally at peace and resigned to being milked, perhaps it is not symbiosis but it is commensalism. sure you can all pat yourselves on the back for being toad rights activists but what evidence do you have that this hurts toads, seriously?

why isn't there an eye rolling emoticon?

if you're not a vegetarian, you don't get to have a (valid) opinion about toad abuse. if you are, why aren't you spending your time doing something about people who kill animals, rather than those who feed and care for them?

toad abuse!

I'm a vegetarian- not to change anyone elses ways, but simply because I don't eat meat 8) I'm not sure where the concept of vegetarians crusading about "doing something about people who kill animals" has come from. To me, it simply means I don't consume the flesh of animals because I don't want to. I really couldn't give a flying fuck if other people do- I just feel bad.

Yes, it is exploitative- or don't you think so? However, there is a big difference between using an animal embryos for food and nutrition and milking a toads venom to smoke. The difference lies in the motives for each. I do eat eggs occaiosnally, though always organic and free range- but as I don't think the two activites remotely resemble themselves, I might just compare raising chckens to having an ant farm....Which is stupid.

As said, I'm a vegetarian, though I put little stock in the term as it almost substitutes for "christian" or "insert-religious fanatacism here". The truth is that while people can criticise people who don't eat meat for many things, the people who do eat meat contribute to death, global warming, environmnetal destruction and the pain of being a farm animal every day. Milking a toad is pretty low on the list of the wrongs done by most regular people to animals.

I still wouldn't do it though ;)

Chickens *die* if they don't lay eggs - it's called being eggbound. They've been bred that way. The eggs are NOT fertile. Would it be better just to let chickens go extinct? You have no need whatsoever to eat eggs - it is a luxury, just like eating meat or smoking toad venom. I'm a vegetarian, but I'm also a biologist. I'm flat out telling you, expert opinion, that a toad with a nice terrarium and plenty of worms to eat (they like worms more than crickets) is perfectly happy to donate a bit of venom. Hell, I'm the part-time caretaker of dozens of poison dartfrogs - do you really think it would matter if I licked one on occasion? Frankly, you're projecting your feelings exploitation onto the toads, which is actually pretty funny.

Emo-hippie-vegan: TOADXPLOTATION! The horror!
Bufo alvarius: DUDE - toad penthouse with worm roomservice!

i couldn't agree more with the above, and let me take it one step further and say - i have tried both synthetic 5-MeO-DMT and toad derived 5-MeO-DMT (im aware there are other tryptamines present) and i vastly prefer the toad derived product, so put that in your pipe and smoke it.%)

I wanna get some of these toads just to have as pets and maybe I will try the venom so we'll see though. I never had a bad experience with 5-MeO-DMT and it was mild compared too DMT so i'll give it a try but i'll probally never use it again after that except maybe if people wanted to try it as well for novielty!!!
