NEWS: Drugs Bought With Virtual Cash - SMH

SR is brilliant, especially when you consider it can only be accessed with Tor. For someone with limited computer knowledge, it certainly isn't a cakewalk to get to (nor is it intended to be - the URL seems almost made to be forgotten), but I assure you it's not that difficult, either. If you use it properly, none of your online traffic should be traceable. Tor functions by essentially scrambling a user's IP address - it uses a sophisticated network of relays to send packets of info through a meandering route to their destination. Each relay along the path knows only the relay from which the data came and the relay to which it is going; no individual relay ever knows the complete path that the data packet is taking. It's essentially like leaving New York, passing through Los Angeles, Seattle, Kansas City, then Boston, San Francisco, Washington DC, then Dallas, to Detroit, to Salt Lake City, to Connecticut, through Denver, and ending up in Miami with your footprints having been erased between each city. Now consider the same scenario with thousands of cities. It is also worthwhile to point out that Tor is used for much more than just SR; it in fact was developed for the purpose of protecting US Navy and government communications (ah, what beautiful irony!), and today Tor is used globally to protect online anonymity.

Sellers on SR receive feedback after each transaction, much like eBay. Buyers do not receive feedback, but the results of their transactions are recorded and displayed to sellers to evaluate before engaging the customer (a seller may be inclined to avoid selling to someone who has reported many packages as being 'never received'). Transactions are processed through an extremely diplomatic escrow system for an underground marketplace - all monies remain in escrow until the buyer 'finalizes' the transaction and releases the funds (usually when the order is received); when a package is lost, all monies remain in escrow until an acceptable resolution is agreed upon by all parties involved. Most sellers are more than fair when dealing with lost merchandise; it's not surprising that a certain degree of financial risk is involved with each transaction - and usually a buyer and seller will agree to split this risk. SR administrators also have a record of being extremely helpful and fair when resolving issues. Now this is obviously not to say that a buyer couldn't make a false assertion, but this is one of the reasons that a transaction record for each buyer is kept, and if you're thinking you can just make a new account for each purchase, know that it can often be difficult to find a preferred seller willing to work with a first-time buyer. Besides, when a purchase is received in the mail, odds are good that the buyer would want to order from the same seller again (now that the seller's integrity has been personally validated), and would likely not want to jeopardize the connection. Sellers on SR are seriously conscious of their reputation, which can be easily tracked through not only feedback, but also through online forums.

The only time an actual name and address are exchanged are when you provide information for delivery to the seller. The seller is the only person to receive this information, and experienced buyers will use GPG encryption to send this info so that it cannot possibly be intercepted. GPG encryption uses a 'public' key that the buyer would use; and a 'private' key that only the seller has, which is the only way of decrypting the message. This is, of course, in addition to the encryption methods that SR already employ. Sellers are given general guidelines and instructions on how to discreetly package their product, but the exact details of each seller's packaging methods are never revealed. The only information about a seller that is provided is his/her country of origin, and even that is optional.

I am personally aware of someone having much success - 6 out of 6...100% :) - ordering from SR, both domestically (US) and internationally. Price deviation from what may be considered typical for a specific product will vary among products, but prices are generally fair, and you must remember that you're paying for a service that makes an otherwise illegal transaction quite convenient. In fact, one product in particular, because of inflated prices here in the US, is quite a good deal when ordered from overseas. Because the value of the Bitcoin is so volatile, product prices on SR are constantly adjusted in order to allow for a somewhat consistent price in dollars or euros. So unless you want to gamble, you're best off making any purchases on SR as soon as possible after your purchase of BTC. Also, Bitcoins, like Tor, are used much more extensively than just for SR; many claim, in fact, that the BTC is the international digital currency of the future. But the evolution of the Bitcoin is well beyond the scope this thread (and even somewhat beyond the scope of my understanding) - so you can do your own research. I will say that there have been millions made by the creators of the Bitcoin, which, when originated, had essentially no broad-spectrum market value whatsoever. From 2009, it has soared from a value of zero, to as high as USD$30, back down to $3, and now sits at around $6-7. I speculate that the Bitcoin's extreme volatility is at least partially due to its esoteric nature, combined with a rapid increase in the number of traders that fail to understand exactly what it is.

As far as potential legal interference goes, very few reports have been made (if any are even accurate). And believe me, news of any successful law-enforcement investigation would spread like wildfire on SR. Besides, let's be real - are the authorities really that interested in the five or ten E-pills that 'Joe the plumber' orders, when there are hundreds of distributors in possession of quantities of drugs a hundred times over? Clearly it's the seller that assumes any true legal risk. Since a lot of the more seasoned sellers on SR are likely ones that helped develop its infrastructure, they are the ones whose cahonies are largest for having such confidence in their own creative work, and to date, it has paid off.

Everyone needs to use their own best judgment when deciding which parts of the web are safe to browse and which are not. Do your research. Be smart. Learn the basics of Tor and GPG and use them extensively, especially for activities that would be of interest to Big Brother. Protect your own personal freedom and right to privacy.

harshx, that was a brilliant post. Basically your post goes over what I was trying to sum up by my statements of value of police dollars vs. the citizen x.

I just can't see a financial viability that the FEDERAL police would even bother to prosecute small buys of random substances purely because the cost to arrest mr. x is much higher than the no-potential media circus around busting some guy for a gram of whatever. They'd look stupid to the public.

Seeing as SR places high enforcement on the anon. of SELLERS more so than the buyers (as commonly many buyers place the ship to address on the order form without encryption).

At one point (before reading through SOPA), i was semi-convinced the CIA probably had some stake in SR (if they had any brains at all) to profit the us government from drugs without having a single person responsible (fuck it's what i would have done). Given the contras and all that kinda stuff they don't seem to have any problem getting their hands truly dirty with drugs - i can't see how having an anonymous backbone as SR wouldn't benefit some country greatly.

As for watching things unfold it seems SR has a clear goal of fighting the governments battle head on just to prove their point. Given the idea has already been manifested i wouldn't be surprised if SR goes down - something bigger and better instantly takes its place.

Well I finally figured out how to get to the silk road. The site actually seems to be legit. So...ia anyone hear going to admit that they have actually purchased something from there?? I noticed that you can actually buy alot if legal items from there like books, shirts etc. Is this site legit?

i think this site is pretty cool, and does sound legit, though no matter how hard it is for cops and the like to track it yadayada im waaayyy to paranoid to even consider this shit. call me ignorant but ill stick to my sources thsnkyou very much :D

Remember there is no sourcing or availability discussion allowed on bluelight and asking how successful people were ordering drugs from a specific site definately falls in there. Lets not let the discussion head that way guys, thanks.

Maybe im luck but theres not much i cant get off sr that i cant get from my street dealer, yeah maybe i cant get full rc's from em but im thankfull i can get what i can from em, got a good clean supply of mdma and the dudes got the occasional 2cb and lsd, im lucky i got a dealer that tests hes drugs with reagents etc. im drunk and been smoken gear through a wine glass will prolly edit it tommora wen im sober. Ive learned alot from bl i wish you all the best.....

Is this site legit?

I doubt it. Even with books and t shirts, it has illegal drug transactions and cloaking sites for payment, so my guess is no, its not legal at all. They dont let you use your paypay and direct deposits for a reason.

guess it depends what people mean by "legit"
there is always the risk that people saying "it's definitely not a scam" are part of the scam, but this seems like the latest step forward for the anarchistic side of the web. i've certainly read reports of people saying they've been scammed by sellers on SR, but who can you believe? nobody, really.
i don't know enough about the technicalities of the internet or how much power nation states have to interrupt these kinds of services, but it does seem like it will either usher in a new era of high tech underground that operates just under the surface, or prompt a backlash that will restrict internet freedoms for everyone.
it's certainly going to be interesting to watch.

From what I understand about SR, the sellers are just as likely to be scammed as the buyers because of the escrow system (where no money travels through until the transaction is complete) which makes it an interesting as normally the buyer is the one constantly being ripped off in the drug trade. And buyers being scammed most definitely does happen.

Legit? As in is this website aiding in people sending drugs all around the world? Definitely.
Legal? Most definitely not. Maybe if you bought a book instead of drugs.

Actually I'm not going to buy anything at all even if it is real. And what I was asking when I said "is this site legit" is this site really what it says it is. Only a complete retard would ask if it is legal. Regardless, I found it to be interesting but like I said I'm not willing to take a chance on being ripped off or busted by the pigs for something I don't have a problem buying off my regular dealers.

Lol legit basically means is it what it says it is. Not if its legal I'm sure he's knows its not!

Oh my bad just read post above me didn't realise he said.exactly the same thing lmao

Most of the shit on SR is generally of a much higher quality then average street drugs. I know my "dealer" can't get 200mg MDMA pills or 80% + coke that makes your nose bleed.. he can get a lower quality version though.. for a higher price.

And what I was asking when I said "is this site legit" is this site really what it says it is. Only a complete retard would ask if it is legal.

LOL! Exactly what I was thinking. On the issue of legitimacy, however, it doesn't take a genius to read the SR forums and see all the 'complete retards' that are successfully buying illicit drugs online.

defintely not easy to access though.

so many fricken steps. pgp, tor, bitcoin wallet etc etc.

but holy shit what is available is craaazzzzzy. chugs start dribbling. Significant other was not impressed to see the site. its like a fricken lolly shop.

I personally wouldnt trust SR as the attention its gotten is ridiculous and if you think ordering from SR is safe then think again, LE DO infiltrate these sites and bust people......read on

this happened on a similar site to SR last year, the people busted were quite well known in the "online drug scene" I can tell you people SHIT their pants because although your fairly anonymous you DO need somewhere for the drugs you bought to be delivered, and most sellers do keep records of what and who they sell to. So before everyone thinks this is a fool proof way to buy drugs off the net....its not

Ok first of all, any sites previously considered "similar" to SR were/are incredibly inferior. There has never been another site even close to SR in terms of security/encryption/safety/support. And these people that you throw reference to in the gazette were busted b/c "surveillance revealed Nelson repeatedly picking up international packages at area packaging stores, as well as dropping off small packages into mailboxes around the city..." not because some brilliant LEO infiltrated their web traffic. In fact, it makes no mention of how communications were being made; for all we know he was advertising on craigslist. Also note the words "repeatedly" and "[picking up] as well as [dropping off]" - only a moron would think this wouldn't lead to suspicions.

I will say it again - Any successful LE investigation into SR would spread like wildfire, and everyone would be talking about it on the SR forums like the apocalypse is happening. And also again, IT IS THE SELLERS ON SR WHO ARE ASSUMING 99% OF ALL LEGAL RISK. Ask yourself: do you really think the feddies want to arrest street-level buyers when they can just as easily go after major distributors? Even if LE ever does crack SR, they would have access to records of both buyers AND sellers. Are they going to waste valuable time and resources going after the 42-yr old Yoga instructor that buys a couple of tabs of E every once in a while? I think not. Consider me brazen, whatever, but people who are so freaking paranoid of the Fed gov't are pussies as far as I'm concerned. If you are smart, then do your research, stay wise, be discreet, and stand the fuck up for your own God-given rights to privacy, freedom, and doing what you want with your own body.

I'm not saying that SR is for everyone - it certainly isn't - and I actually couldn't care much less if you use it or not, but I get tired of seeing people post shit that are generalizations that are just simply not true, eg "LE DO infiltrate these sites and bust people." SR is strictly a one-off; there is no 'these' about it. If you're going to make a statement like that, show me when & where it happened.

QFT mate, most "retards" would give up after realising the steps involved. Someone else mentioned books, the books on offer aren't what you would find at your local angus & robertson LOL
