Coronavirus lockdown

I've got enough T paper but can't get hand sanitiser for love or money. I just wear gloves all the time when I go out

Something I do, is I just make a conscious effort not to touch my face when I'm out, and then wash my hands as soon as I get home.

This isn't a Coronavirus thing, it's just a habit I've done every winter to avoid getting sick.

I'm sure it's not perfect, and maybe it's just my immune system, but I really don't get sick often.

Just a thought. If nothing else, gloves aren't gonna help much if you still touch your face with them anyway.

And these are the people that won't drink ethanol?

The phrase 'stupid cunts' springs to mind...

ethanol is illegal in iran apart from within the armenian christian community, for religious purposes.

i got offered alcohol while i was there but did not fancy risking iranian prison for anything, not even the gear they get over there, which was much more tempting. from what i heard, if you want an event with alcohol served, you can bribe the local police and they'll turn a blind eye, so its not that they won't drink alcohol. it is that alcohol is only available for sale, and for risk free consumption, to the rich.

soap and water is better than hand sanitser for this virus, so washing hands as soon as you get home and not touching your face is definitely good advice Jess.

Has anyone come close to murdering their families yet? I had my first 'I cannot actually do this' moment yesterday.

fuck Iran. Don’t lift the sanctions and let the fuckers sort themselves out

seriously? what do you know about it then to pronounce such a judgement? do you have any comprehension of the impact those sanctions are having on a mostly innocent population of 80 million people? have you been? how many iranians do you know?

iran is by far the most amazing country i have been to, and the people are my joint favourites with the japanese. brits hover near the bottom of my league table, views like the one expressed in the above post being a large reason why.

i would love them to raise sanctions as well. it's utterly ridiculous and mostly done at the behest of saudi arabia and their evil royal dictators and religious/power politics nonsense

ha thanks for the clarification @CFC i'll ignore him next time.

i honestly don't think anyone in Britain (I think you're a brit CFC?) has a leg to stand on finger pointing at Iran alone in the Iran-Saudi Arabi proxy war given that we are selling arms to Saudi and buying their oil, funding their side and providing the weapons. Both sides are equally to blame, and if you look in to the modern history (I recommend 'the great war for civilisation' by robert fisk) then we and the states have a huge amount of blame. Yes Iran is behaving atrociously, but having seen the impact that these sanctions have on the ground,
and knowing the context around the sanctions, I think they are utterly inhumane and are obviously ineffective at influencing foreign policy.

How far would you take the sanctions? to the level we did in iraq- where children couldn't get chemo drugs when they got massive rates of cancer due to the radiation from the bombs we dropped on them? they are already inhumane and any raising of them would just make it worse.

fucking council have now taped up the benches in the park to prevent people sitting on them. Fascists!

the UK and US have treated Iran the same way the UK treated China in the nineteenth century (forcing them to become addicted to Opium for ££ or risk destruction of their entire country), so yeah, we don't have a leg to stand on. they are perfectly entitled to be pissed off at us. and we should stop fucking around in other countries internal politics.

Robert Fisk has been providing consistently balanced analysis of the entire region for decades. He sets the benchmark standard for how to execute investigative, geo-political journalism.
Mark Curtis has also brought to light how British foreign policy operates and who the beneficeries are. This is a great book -
The US/UK imperial domestic inteference into the Iranian revolution deliberately pushed power into the religious authoritarian theocracy currently in power.
The beginnings of the Iranian revolution against the brutal, fascist Shah were liberal/socialist but when the CIA/MI6 realised their dictator was finished they intervened. Democracy is a worse case scenario for our old imperial colonies.
The Saudi fascist regime and 'House of Saud' was an British construct. We invented that particular state. The Saudis exported Sunni 'wahabi jihadi islam' which evolved into alqueda, then IS. The genocidal slaughter the UK and Saudi government are currently inflicting in Yemen is nothing short of the world's current major war crime.
The Iranians regime is no indication of the character and culture of their domestic population.
It's not like the UK where our Government and political class is an almost concentrated clear representation of the sadistic, selfish, thieving, bullying residents that make up the populace. Second biggest arms dealer on the planet. No problem - please use our taxes to loan to Brutal dictators so we can maintain our class system. Don't fucking spend money on demented residents in care homes or people with learning disabilities though.
Fucking austerity. Cunts

Has anyone else noticed a significant increase in the number of police patrol cars on the road recently? Considering the traffic volume is down by about 70% (at a rough estimate), I'm now seeing 5 - 6 cop cars per day as opposed to 2 - 3 before 'the virus'.

Furthermore, I've been seeing mobile speed cameras parked up on fast A roads where you would normally never see them. Obviously hoping to boost revenue due to deserted roads 'encouraging' speeding...

Completely the opposite this end. To the point where it’s bringing out the dick head drivers, driving through reds, not as they’ve just turned, while six cars have gone through a green in the opposite direction red. Nearly got rear ended in a car park this afternoon, some fuck nugget didn’t check or look at all, I got out to shout some abuse/check if she had hit me, but she just roared off nearly taking out some old biddy in the process!

Beyond Thunderdome.

Fuck
