Charlotte & Bob - Lost in Translation

I was counting the seconds until someone posted this one.

I think that Pure_XTC and I are the only two people on Earth who didn't "get" the fascination with this relationship and with this movie.

Anyone care to sell me on the notion that we should give it another try?

No, you sound pretty set on your discontent.

I don't think there's anything Tony wouldn't do for his pale friend, especially towards the end.

In all seriousness I second DeNiro and Walken's characters in The Dear Hunter.

Banky and Holden - Chasing Amy
Jonathan and Dean - Serendipity
Mike and Bobby (as brothers) - Radio Flyer

sorry,. can't think of the names of the two brothers, but damn...that bond was HOT! i think that even if they were brothers in real life, i'd still bang it out with them....only with the irish accents, though. purrrr... ;)

Bill and Ted - Bill and Tedd's Excellent Adventure/Bogus Journey

damn ll i opened this thread with 1 in mind and its the first one on your list:)

their friendship had a great dynamic imo. it had elements of some sort of father daughter / teacher student relationship, but one where the subordinate or less experienced party (charolette) ends up teaching or reawakening something in the older wiser counterpart. i think for charolette, seeing bob still struggle with the same issues as her only 25 years down the line was more encouraging than defeating....sort of let her know that lots people never really feel completely at ease despite how the present themselves...its a relationship that personally speaks to me which is why i found so cool. also it was kind of an instant connection that didnt seem false or thrown together.

just one of those love it or hate it type movies imo
