Best Depictions Of Close Friendships In Movie History

The Terminator & John Connor - Terminator 2
I actually prefer the relationship between Sarah Connor and the Terminator in this movie...maybe because it's one of the rare mainstream Hollywood movies where the male and female leads are equals yet not romantically involved?

Same for Ripley and Bishop in Aliens.

Both these movies are similar in that the women both began with an intense distrust and/or loathing of the men, and ended with an incredible level of respect and bond...also interesting that the men sacrificed themselves (maybe I'm remembering that incorrectly though, I'm not sure if Bishop actually died in the end of Aliens) and they're both artificially intelligent life.

Actually it's kind of off the topic I guess, but it's interesting that the only way a woman could be the masculine aggressive lead in a Hollywood film is if the man isn't actually a man...I wonder what that says?

I don't remember the names of any of these characters, unfortunately, but the three junkies from Gridlock'd always stuck with me for some reason as a a great depiction of friendship.

John and Jeremy in WEDDING CRASHERS, which by the way, if fucking hilarious!!!

i'm surprised no one's mentioned Sam and Frodo on LOTR

My first thought. Also the Pippin/Merry partnershipp was ace too. Hell, most of the cast had amazing friendships.

Any scorcese picture with both De Niro and Pesci in it. Casino, Goodfellas, but especially Raging Bull.

Travis & Iris in Taxi Driver.

Dreben, Hocken & Nordberg in The Naked Gun 1 & 2

Jesus & Judas in The Last Temptation of Christ

Jules & Vincent in Pulp Fiction

Peter Gibbons, Samir Nagheenanajar & Michael Bolton in Office Space

Satan & Saddam Hussein in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut

Cole & Goines in 12 Monkeys

Raoul Duke & Dr Gonzo in Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas

there're just so many....

now that i think about it, pretty much every movie has some sort of friendship in it. im guessing it would be more difficult to name a movie that didnt show friendship.

half baked
man on fire (walken & denzel, denzel and peta)

Hallie Parker and Annie James in THE PARENT TRAP!
