Zyprexa?

If Zyprexa is a "thienobenzodiazepine" so does that mean it has benzodiazepine properties? Is it very sedative? Is it throughly unenjoyable? At what dosage?

One of the listed side-effects is spontaneously fainting when rising from a sitting position. Sounds promising. Down they go.

It's prescribed primarily for it's antipsychotic properties for those with disorders like schizophrenia.
My friend takes it. He says it helps tremendously. But he would rather be on something else. It makes him too sleepy and unmotivated. So, his paranoid schizophrenia is in check, but sort of at the sacrifice of his depression.

I took 10mg 45 minutes ago. It feels remotely like 3mg of Xanax but significantly weirder (kind of trippy). I feel as though I would drive a car poorly/dangerously. I am slowed way down. I feel dumb. But decent.

note to the reader, saying you would drive a car poorly isn't much difference than an average dose of 3mgs, in fact, any medium dose sedative/benzo you will find yourself in poor condition to drive an automobile.

Although Zyprexa (olanzapine) is a thienobenzodiazepine and thus structurally related to the benzodiazepines, it exerts its action by blocking dopamine and serotonin type 2 receptors. Zyprexa has no affinity for the benzodiazepine type receptors.
This is a good example of why you can't jump to conclusions about a drug's activity based on its chemical structure alone.

I used to be prescribed Zyprexa and I have to say it has no recreational properties. All it does is make you tired as hell..... So many people think that because a drug is in the class of Anti-psychotics it must be able to fuck you up...wrong...Ive been prescribed Zyprexa, Risperdal, Clozaril and a few others and they are NOT fun in any way.......

Zyprexa is definantly not like benzodiazepines and is definantly not recreational.
Unless you have schizophrenia or you are insanely manic, it will just knock you straight out.
I was given a sample box of Zyprexa from my psychiatrist one time.
After being on my third day of wakefullness due to a manic episode, a single pill knocked me out for 23 hours.
The next day I split in half and it ended up knocking me out for 16 hours.
Well, I guess it could be recreational, actually. You could slip it in girl's drinks if rape is your idea of recreation. Or you could slip it in guys drinks and be a gay rapist!

Well I tried it, and though it was sedating, it showed little recreational value. I did feel a noticable "mood lift" and some sense of well-being, so maybe I am psychotic after all. It was somewhat relaxing/mind-numbing. I know, I assumed just because it was a Benzo it would be like other Benzo's, though it was definately a strong sedative (which is all that I hoped for). I'll just stick to GHB.
