got a sample pack of olazanzepine.
usually take otc prometazine for occational insomnia

is this stuff cool to take occcationally when my insomnia is bad or is it something u need to take everyday to be effectivei
im aware it has not rec value just lookin for a sleepin pill to use occationally when my insomnia is bad.

or should i just stick with the otc shit which i know is ok for occational use which is what i want.. got GAD & insomnia & lookin for pracical meds.

im genuenly seeking help for mental health issues. but dont wanna start a med to take everyday.

so my question is it ok to take occationaly as a sleeping pill or does it NEED to be taken everyday to become effective for mania, insomna etc.

Its a potent sedative but whether its desirable to take is personal preference. You might feel like a zombie the next day.

my question is is it ok to take rarely as a sleep add for sever insonmia or does it need to be taken for a period of time to have its calimed anti-manic antianxiety effect?
like ssris for example they take a few weeks to start working.

im assuming the sedating effect works straight away but the anti-pychotic effect takes a period of using it for a few weeks or whatever to start working.

its anti-psychotic effects work the first dose you take.. they make IM injections and also wafers that melt under the tongue for acute cases.
It does build up to double the dose after you are taking it for a couple weeks (ex. you take 10mg/day you have 20mg in your system)
I take 30mg/night for bipolar disorder and have for 5 or so years. It is an excellent med.

So for your question..
Yes it will work for sleep and as an anti-psychotic if you take it as needed.
But if you take it regularly it DOES build up in your system like you thought, but rest assured it will work fine before it builds up.

%)

EDIT: and i just want to note that the 30mg i take is a rather big dose since Eli Lilly and the FDA say not to exceed 20mg/day. And even 20 is strong. Zyprexa is a lot more potent than Seroquel mg-mg. I would consider 20mg Zyprexa to around 200-300mg Seroquel.

I just don't want you taking a huge dose and having anything bad happen. I would say 10mg would be perfect to put you to sleep for the night and it lasts 24hrs so will help with anxiety the day after also(even more so if taken regularly) BUT if taken regularly it becomes not as sedating. I can dose my 30mg and stay awake :\

THANK U HdoubleODeezy
cuz lie i said i onlt wanna take shit like that on ther rare occasion I need something strong toknock me out

ive had 200mg of serequel & it got me tired. & i didnt need to take of for a few weeks too start the effect like ssris.
i got 10mg pillls so i should really only take 1/2 a pill to get a good nights sleep?+

i mite have to cheak an anti sycotic equilelent chart

can someone give me a link to a good antipsychotic equivelence chart?

I'd suggest you start low, try half the dose, you can always go higher.
I'm not sure about an anti-psychotic equivalence chart, I'd be interested to see one; don't know if one exists. Anti-psychotics aren't quite like benzos where they all have similar effects but dosages vary, so an equivalence chart can be easily made. Maybe I'm wrong though

i think quetiapine(Seroquel) would be a better choice for occasional insomnia(if you're going to use an antipsychotic).

its perscribed off-label for insomnia and it knocks me straight out on meth and coke comedowns.

suffering bad insomnia atm
got 10mg pills
if i take half a pill about how long would it take to start feeling sedation? (before I consiter having the other half)
