anybody else get this weird bitter metallic tatse the day after doing zopiclone. i did 3 yesyerday and now everything i eat or drink has a bitter metallic tatse. water tastes the worst which sucks cuz i cant get enough of water when im hung over how long does this last

This is a common side effect. I use Zolpidem (Ambien in US) no such problem. However it stimulates my appetite massively after 5hrs+ sleep.

Depends on the individual, but the more i did the longer i found it lasted, should subside within 36 hours.

Zopiclone is worse than zolpidem for this side effect by far. You get this wierd coating on the back of your tongue. It also causes bad breath.

Wears off a day or two after stopping taking the zop.

Worth mentionning that it doesn't happen to everybody, for example I never had such a metallic taste problem. Now tolerance is another thing, and it's a damn bitch coming on veeeery fast with this damn drug.

Whatever you do, don't go to sleep needing a shit. Being a muscle relaxant, you can guess what can/will happen. I can hold them in like a beast any time of the day, even when I'm asleep; but I once took 3 Z's (think they were 7.5mg each?) and yeah, I woke up with a surprise in my boxers. Such are the risks of (ab)using certain meds.

As for the taste, it only lasted a few hours for me, dosed in the evening and it was gone by morning. Fuck Zopiclone though, I would go ask for something different if this is a prescription.

zopiclone / eszopiclone does it, zolpidem doesn't

i'm positive it's some effect in the brain. i don't think the drug is doing things to the tongue. maybe it is though?

it's a normal effect and goes away over time. i'd ask to switch to zolpidem, which works just as well and in just the same way, without the taste side effect

I get that metallic taste when taking zopiclone, simply awful side effect. And you're right, water is the worst with that taste. It always wore off in 24 hours for me. Never have any problems with ambien/zolpidem. I will never touch lunesta/zopiclone again.

^ I find food much worse tasting than water cos at least with water you can add vimto or high juice or something but every time i try to eat after zopiclone it makes me wanna spew.

id use to get that taste all the time been doing it off and on for years now if ur gonna use it recreationally try snorting it that way u can remeber most of the high lol

The taste does really suck.off topic but like the op I am a native canadian (Ojibway)living in Winnipeg and my real name is nick as well.pretty weird!:D

I got this side effect also. I only noticed it the day after but the metallic taste would last all day :p
Horrible shit, unfortunately it worked quite well as a sleep aid :\

Now tolerance is another thing, and it's a damn bitch coming on veeeery fast with this damn drug.

I'll second that. Zopiclone has the worst tolerance build-up of any drug I've taken. You need to take very long breaks between use or it simply doesn't work however much you take.
