Hi there
i am finding it hard to get information on how to stop zopiclone. I have had valium and zopiclone on and off for two years.
I have been using zopiclone for 4 months solidly, and just finished a valium taper.
The zopiclone doesnt help me sleep any longer, I want to stop taking them.
But I have read that I may have to go back on to valium and taper again.
Can any advise me of the possible ways off coming off and what I may expect? My goal is to be drug free, and face my problems with out meds.
Much appreciated.

Nice goal you have there.
Being off from zopiclone, if you have used in precribed amounts, is not harsh at all. Just quit it. If you have problems though then take half a dose you used for a while.

Thanks
I am a bit worried after wikapedia info says they can be problematic to go CT.
just for my own reminder have quit oxys crack and baileys, in the last month, yey.
I give it a try.

Ps are you really a debt collector?

As for a now I am a debt collector. Actually in a work training at the moment but not like those debt collectors that you think it refers. I mean the illegal ones that come knocking your door with baseball bats.

I do it in a legal company over phone.

how many mg are you taking daily?

any other substances?

you can always taper with zopi itself........

some years ago i just stopped the zopiclone (was taking 30+ 7.5mg a day) then decided it was time to come off. i went cold turkey, it wasn't as bad as i thought. cravings and no sleep for a month. then i could sleep normally and returned to normality. i kept that up for a whole year, was well needed, then went back on them again, silly idea that was, back to square one

It's a great goal you have to stop doing drugs and face your problems head on sober.

What you need to do is go to your doctor and tell him/her you want to get off zopiclone. Your doctor will be able to help you much better than anyone on this forum. Do not try to taper on your own. If you really want to be drug free and face the world and all it's problems sober, then you do that by first coming off drugs with the help of your doctors. Do it the right way!

That is my advise to you.
