Hey all, In the current zoo magazine, they have a little brochure in the middle that has "The Facts about drugs" It's pretty small, goes through all the common drugs, MDMA, Cannabis, LSD, Meth etc.

I only looked through it quickly because I was at work, but I forgot to take it home with me. From what I read though, it seemed pretty balanced and stated both pro's and cons.

Don't know if this thread is worth keeping open, but I just more thought I'd let everyone know, I mean Zoo's a sweet magazine anyway so for $4 I think you could all treat yourself and have a read through.

Thats all lol.

You see that ecstasy lab? this makes me so made there was stuff in chicks mags as well i think its all done by the gov cause it happens to be right next to anti-drug gov adverts.
I hate how the gov can lie about things. I mean saying that cyanide is in rat poison
(not for years) cyanide is not bad for you unless it kills you. They get there facts wrong and stuff sounds stupid the more i know about chemistry and drug the more bullshit and propaganda i notice.... I could go on a hell long rant i spent a lot of time pointing out all the crap that is wrong. but it just makes me mad. Why not just ell the truth that pills are shit these days and mainly contain crappy pipes and anti nausea drugs.

I recon most people on BL could do a better job for: HR, anti-drug gov ads that have true facts to scare people off taking drugs or info with no agenda.
RIP MDMA :(

Thanks for the heads up student

It's not often you see factual evidence printed about these drugs in Australia

I'm currently reading "The Simple Plant Isoquinolines" By Alexander Shulgin, Wendy E. Perry and will personally stick to more informative reads than ZOO Magazine :)

Alexander Shulgin
The passion of my life over the past 40 years has been a compelling interest in psychedelic drugs. They have given me not only an exciting area of research, but also a personal understanding of who I am and why I am. Certainly these guides and sacraments will eventually play an accepted role in our community and in our culture.

Wendy E. Perry
There is great hypocrisy, fear and thoughtlessness afoot in the United States (and many other countries) regarding psychoactive drugs. Their benefits and potential uses are lost in the rhetoric of the "drug war", and in the fear that it generates. There are many examples of healthy and informed use of psychoactive medicines throughout the world, and throughout the ages. They have been used in the past, and are being used today, as healing tools. We need that kind of thinking in this country, we need that kind of healing.

As it stands, hypocrisy exists in the laws regarding alcohol and tobacco, which are legal and are the most damaging and widely abused drugs in our culture.

Will we ever see a day when the bullshit stops and the truth about drugs is widely available to the masses? Only time will tell...

I wont be excited until I see news reporters and paper articles stating factual drug information without the scare mongering.

You wouldn't want kids to know the truth about these things, they may make an informed choice or something crazy 8)

You see that ecstasy lab?

Are you talking about the pathetic scare mongering pics of the toilet ecstasy lab?

Someone stuck a giant photo of a real MDMA lab (one busted in Holland some years back) over a poster of the bullshit "toilet lab" at a Melbourne train station.

It was complete with a rant about MDMA synthesis and the equipment needed.

Whoever it was, I'd shout them a night out <3

It's a bit late to be targeting ecstasy. The kids that these campaigns are targeted at, have parents that quite possibly spent hundreds of hours under pretty lights whilst banging on MDMA. Parents that hold down full time jobs, pay taxes and are part of the community

I mean Zoo's a sweet magazine .

I must be in the wrong demographic - the ads for zoo are so revolting i haven't even thought of actually reading one %)

I like the idea of pasting up images of real MDMA labs - now that's a sweet read.

It just angers me in general that all this money (our money - the ATP) gets wasted on media campaigns (that are not backed by evidence) when it could go on things that really work - like harm reduction and treatment services. The spend on "prevention campaigns" is about a quarter of the total governement spend on illicit drugs - compared to around 20% into treatment and 3% (yes - 3 measly % ) on harm reduction :! :! :! :!

Ha ha now that's a fucking good idea, I wish I'd thought of that. :D

I'd quite happily shit in a cup if it meant I could make MDMA in my toilet

I've seen some filthy meth lab pics that don't even come close the that Aus Gov propaganda picture

Pill pressing can be dirty but for the most part, MDMA labs and pill pressing is a fairly clean business, done by knowledgeable chemists

Aren't toilet's less germy than our mobile phones anyway? maybe we should keep our phones away from our mouths and start licking the toilet...

IIRC keyboards are worse than your average toilet seat for bacteria too... gotta watch out for those dirty internet users!

I snorted pills once... then never again after that.

Maybe if I had molly I would.

I can snort pills if I'm already munted, the drip is just too horrible to face sober, however.

Most girlfriends of mine prefer the rectal administration of MDMA

Snorting pills is just plain stupid. I hope you don't use a dirty money note rolled up?

Pure molly is bad enough up the nose, let alone pills with dodgy cutters

I dont mind the government spending some dollars on scare monger adverts even if they do stretch the truth a fair bit.

The way i look at it is that if they actually stop people from using drugs then thats a good thing.

Anyone who doesnt believe that stuff or alternately takes the time to at least discover the truth for themselves will also become more educated about what they are doing alonmg the way.

Anyone dum enough to just out and out believe things without seeking a second opinion really shouldnt be doing drugs anyways.

back when the pills were mdma it was pretty common to snort pills (usually in addition to popping) to enjoy quicker onset and the gauge the pills strength. not sure why you came to the conclusion of it being plain stupid.

im not sure what cutters are, is that a mix between cut and binders/fillers? pills will not have cut but binders and fillers but molly can be cut if its off a crap source.

im pretty sure its mostly the MDMA its self and not the binders and fillers which cause bad taste and sensation when snorting. the mdma will be absorbed through the mucous glans and any binders and fillers will be left behind to either be sneezed out or go through to your stomach.

and using a "dirty money note" will cause no harm unless you have aids and cant handle minute amounts of bacteria.
