Any of you guys messing with the Z drugs?

I used to love dosing this shit and trying to stay awake. The weird smoky visuals, euphoria, delusions of power.

The problem with shit is the insane instant tolerance that occurs.

But before that you will sleepwalk, wake up at friends house not knowing htw you got there, realising you drove asleep.
Eventually your mother will call the ambulance cause you took 10 pills just to try and get a buzz and you will end up trying to convince the hopsital shrink that you where not in fact trying to kill yourself.

Do not fuck with this seeming innocent sleeping pill. You will regret it.

Not a fuck, but in retrospect my symptoms seem to match closely to the warnings. Also i see this post looks like a troll post to be honest but my intentions are simply to warns others really, I moved to Seroquel and i guess it helped me get out of a dangerous situation. The Z drugs are prescribed like candy and I think they re seriously underrated in terms of harm potential.
 
z-drugs are less abusable because of well... what you just wrote, and they do knock most people out if they aren't stupid enough to fuck with their stupid recreational effects (if they are even considered recreational)

blackouts at low dosage, stupid side effects, stupid behavior whilst on them usually deters most people from taking them irresponsibly

but hey i abused them shitless too, and i still to this day wonder why, as i never really enjoyed the effects... i guess it was because i loved putting stuff up my nose but thats a different matter

not to mention the stupid hallucinations i would get and hate every second of. seeing a "centipede" crawl up my lamp was my favourite. along with my floor of spiders. and my unusal ability to provide a trip report while being blacked out on zolpidem was incredibly amusing the next morning after i read what i wrote, scary as fuck thinking that i wrote it though.
 
I just find it funny that the FDA approved a whole class of medications that can be prescribed so widely for insomnia despite making people trip balls. I mean, people eventually build a tolerance to the hypnotic effects of Z-drugs, what happens then?

I wonder how that followup inspection went...

I know one girl who used to be addicted to it, and she shared the most vivid and almost horrifying experiences with it that I've ever heard. Things I would never imagine coming from LSD, shrooms, or DMT.
 
Oh yeah, have abused it.
At first I just felt calm on about five of the pills.

On higher doses later on, I tripped balls and felt like I couldn't breathe. Don't do it, kids.

Yep, I usually take 10mg with weed for a great night, once a week at most. Never really noticed any tolerance.

When I first got put on it I would do strange shit in the middle of the night like set my alarm clocks for odd times but never had the problems you describe. Quit chasing the first few highs by upping your dose and the majority of the side effects go away.

Just because some people (you) have problems with zolpidem doesn't mean everybody will. I've been prescribed ambien for about 9 months and very much enjoy them.
 
I abused it once after finding out it was 'abusable'. That is the last time I will do that shit. there was NOTHING pleasant about it for me. And a lot of negative shit.
 
Had couple of funny times taking this shit and couple of fucked-up ones too :I
Last time made me vomit felt fucking bad. And last time when i took Zopiclone I had to vomit too : (
Had good times drawing for like 6 hours, asking from people at mah place weird shit sumtimes but mostly just quiet and draw : D blissy somehow everything was sparkling and misty at my crib felt gooood ;)
 
I had quite the experience with them myself, since I am prescribed them. I know what you mean, but never take benadryl with it. Even if you were to use this for insomnia, going over 350mg for the instant benadryl knockout punch will make floors of spiders the leastnof your problems
 
I always enjoyed it as a recreational drug, going back over a decade when it was brand only (white 10mg, red 5mg "red dragons"). I found, as mentioned elsewhere on threads about it, that it seemed like 3 different drugs depending on ROA. Orally would produce full body, pleasant relaxation, slight visuals, etc. Insufflation felt like a 'stupifying' agent, making it difficult to formulate and maintain thoughts, mild sedation, mild body load. IV felt like instant full body dissociation, mild catatonia in larger doses, no sign of the more pleasurable effects of oral Zolpidem, with a tendency to want to re-mix and shoot more after it wore off (or felt like it was wearing off). Recently had a prescription for it, still have lots sitting around with little to no desire to take it through any ROA. Quickly became less interesting. Taking 5-20mg orally or insufflated doesn't put me to sleep, just relaxes me for about an hour and makes me hungry. No amnesia or silly behavior.

EDIT:

I've taken Eszopiclone, Zaleplon as well and found them much less interesting than Zolpidem.
 
I took 10mg tonight first time ever I was just reading this and was like I wanna smoke outside of course so I get up and I'm all discombobulated light from phone is was to bright and I stumble over and out the door it was hard work keeping upright outside leaning on porch and typing this is even more so an issue. Holy moly
 
granted, it's inferior to benzos as a recreational drug, but i've had some interesting experiences with zolpidem.

also, everytime i read something about any drug like, 'may make you gamble compulsively, sexually molest the mailman or impulsively buy shit' i just feel like trying it. seems like a good way to spend the weekend.
 
My mother used to take ambien for years but sometimes had vodka drinks with it. We would talk on the phone and the next day she would call and tell me the same thing. (Ambien Amnesia) Bless her heart, I sometimes miss those conversations.
 
my father has been taking zolpidem along with bromazepam and lorazepam for quite a long while. according to my mother he took benzos when they just met, thus at least 29+ years. he's remarkably disciplined though, something i never was. still my father calling me at 4am, completely whacked, was pretty funny.
 
I think the OP is right in telling people to be careful with this one. It hasn't produced dangerous side effects in my experience of using, but people have been known to sleep-walk to an extraordinary extent and/or black out with no memory only after taking 10mg on this drug.
