Zoloft question...

Alright, I've been wondering a bit about Zoloft lately so I went over to RxList and Erowid to see what I can gather up and I basically got to a bad conclusion. It may take several weeks for desired effects to be achieved. So here's the question: If someone was to take enough Zolofts, would a good high be reached? Please reply with the milligram dosage since I don't have these pills and wouldn't be able to tell you how many MGs each pill was. Thanks.

Well, ive seen people take high doses of about 300 400 mg of the stuff, They were acting crazy.. all having unusuall muscle spasms... all kinds of side effects.... in short it was either them being retarded (very likely) or there is an effect from high dose zoloft...

Attempting to get high off Zoloft will NOT result in ANY kind of fun WHATSOEVER. If anything, you might end up if with some massive (unpleasant) side effects from taking so much all at once..

Zoloft=Bad. Some dumbass told me if you took like, 100 mg of zoloft and drank a bunch, it was like rolling, so that i did, and passed out, only to wake up 6 hours later with a horrible headache, throwing up for hours, in a cold sweat. for the rest of that day, i was SO nauseous, and when i yawned or took a deep breath, I would get a wierd headrush, it felt sort of like rolling, only it didn't feel good, like my nerves were hurting or something. not cool.

This reminds me of back in early high school when everyone (myself included) thought that you could get high off of AD's, mainly prozac...I did get high too, but just because I thought that I would. In retrospect, I realize that I was an idiot, or maybe just ignorant. Anyway, SSRI's et al are not good drugs to abuse. Only use them if they are prescribed to you. On another note, did you know that 40 mg prozac caps are available? That seems like a whole lotta prozac in one dose.

40 mg prozac is not THAT much...it's one of the weaker SSRIs and besides, some people take up to 60 mg daily.

I guess I thought that prozac was stronger...It is stronger than Celexa though, isn't it? Anyway, I guess I didn't even realize they made prozac in a 40 mg dose. Also, prozac is now available in a generic, but only one company owns the rights to it (Barr Labs) so it is still hella expensive. Just a little tidbit.

prozac is an sri not an ssri.. i think its stronger than celexa.

From Rxlist.com: "CelexaTM (citalopram HBr) should be administered at an initial dose of 20 mg once daily, generally with an increase to a dose of 40 mg/day. Dose increases should usually occur in increments of 20 mg at intervals of no less than one week. Although certain patients may require a dose of 60 mg/day, the only study pertinent to dose response for effectiveness did not demonstrate an advantage for the 60 mg/day dose; over the 40 mg/day dose doses above 40 mg are therefore not ordinarily recommended. "
vs.

So the Celexa dosage range is about 20-40 mg, and the Prozac range is about 20-80mg (it once had a 60 mg upper limit but now that limit had been raised). This implies that on a mg basis, Celexa is more potent than Prozac.
