Zicam Cough Mist

Hey Guys,
I had just posted earlier about Robitussin Cough Gels because I have only tripped off of syrup, then someone meantioned Zicam Couph mist... I didn't know that they made dex in cough mist form...sounds interesting...
I was wondering if anybody here has any experience on it, because it sounds like an easy way to take the dex...
 
Yes it works great.

Problem is its so friggin small amounts per bottle. Honestly youre not getting your moneys worth. Granted, its easy to take, but its expensive.

I reccommend the cough gels, get the store brand. 300mg for five bucks is solid.

Also, if you can get them near you, Zicam makes a 30mg cough MELT. Its quite tasty. I just swallow them like a pill. They tend to cost a bit more than gels, but swallowing half the goods is a trade off.
 
You could always snag some gels AND the mist... it's useful for pushing you up if you aren't quite where you want to be...

Sorbitol, which is what the plasticy casing of the gels is made out of, is what causes such extreme nausea (i think). Dose the gels slowly! and use the mist liberally to speed up the dosing process.
 
The difference is the mist will hit you like in 20 minutes, whereas the gels take a little over an hour.

I personally have a bunch of gels, and also the sucrets losenges. sucrets are dirt cheap, in fact they sell 240mg for like 2.75 at my store. Downside is the 10mg per candy. But they are tasty.

So i'll do gels to get mostly where I want. But if I still need another 30-50 mg to kinda hit the spot I'll do a few lozenges.
 
I just popped the top off of the mist bottle, poured the solution into a shotglass, and gulped it down in one gulp. Quite a fast and easy way to take 300+mg DXM. The solution doesn't taste very good, however (but it doesn't have the same disgusting Robitussin taste). I would use a chaser.

And the mist hits you harder and faster, like within 30 min.
 
i used concentrated zicam mist and im pretty sure one little spray bottle had 600 mg in it...not too pricey. not really a dxm fan though

Acctually the zicam mist have around 300mg per bottle and the nighttime formula has about double that amount. Plus it is a concentrated fast absorbing version so it kicks in faster and harder. Though ive never tried the mist ive heard good things about it.

edit: Sorbital is good to avoid (not under active ingredients) because of its laxative effect
 
Ok I thought it had less than that. Doing some research seems like its about 400mg.

16.3ml per bottle. .25ml per spray. 6mg a spray.

16.3/.25 = 65.2, 65.2x6 = 391.

Looks like I'm going shopping
 
Around here there are rumored to be a kids variety of DXM that has pills only containing added lactose. There's virtually no taste to it, lot less nausea and of course there's the off
chance that you will behave very childish ;)

Well I acquired a thing of this here mist. Yep, 391 mgs.

Tastes pretty much like a cherry morphed into satan in my mouth. But whatever. I just did a few pumps to try it out.

I got a straight gram worth at home so a trip is probably in the near future :)

I tried Zicam cough spray once. I poured the stuff out onto a plate and let it evaporate for a while. I then mixed it with flour to make pills. They sat in the freezer for quite some time, and when I finally got around to taking it, it hit hard and fast. No nausea, no diarrhea either. Quick-acting DXM seems a bit stupifying to me; DXM polistirex feels much cleaner and leaves me with a clearer head. I plan to try R. cough gels soon, though I don't like the idea of taking that laxative, sorbitol. I'll probably eat a carrot and banana beforehand, as these are natural anti-diarrhea foods.

How does one open Zicam Cough Max Mist

Ok there was a thread on the cough mist recently. But mine is rather specific. How the fuck does one go about opening this bottle of liquid?

I just "got" one recently since I was informed it has 391 mg in it. It perfectly works out to 4mg/kg for me. Plus I threw down 22 15mg caps, so I'll be at about 7.5mg/kg tonight. Plus I did GFJ to potentiate.

But I couldnt open it for the life of me. I ended up getting a kitchen knife and sawing it below the cap. It doesnt unscrew. And the hell if you think i'm spraying 65 times into my mouth. I want it over fast.

I poured it into my GFJ, barely tasted it and it went down fast. I found my new favorite weapon.
 
You dont get as bad with the cough gels. The Sorbitol is lessened in those.

My first time with DXM was with Nyquil and that had lots of sorby and I was on the pooper for a while.

But yeah with Gels, or orange syrups, you dont get much of that stuff. In fact I would venture to say Delsym and other orange ones have none at all.
 
^Just looked at the box. Delsym has polysorbate, a derivative of a derivative of sorbitol, if you can believe Wikipedia. Delsym syrup gives me the spoops somethin' fierce. Has me running to the bathroom for dear life, and it even resulted in hemorrhoids last time I drank the liquid! That was just one fluid oz for a low-1st plateau dose to kill my anxiety.

I don't drink the liquid now. I perform the cold-water separation and throw away the syrup. No more runs!

I'm somewhat hesitant to take the gels since I don't like vomiting, nor do I like emergencies at the other end.
 
How about giving up DXM and never touching it again? Do yourself a favor and get some good psychedelics. That shit is poison.
 
Oh, you're right. Why not buy some acid and risk the worst kind of prosecution available?

Seriously, what do you base your opinions on? Don't you know that DXM has neuroprotective properties which are *very* relevant in a society which faces the horribly present specter of Alzheimer's? DXM possesses many of the same properties as memantine, a compound being used to delay the effects of Alzheimer's. Just because glutamate disruption causes some people to feel stupid does not mean that everybody receives the same detrimental effect. Just because DXM is not a psychedelic in the classical sense does not make it useless. Just because teens abuse it recklessly, and it is commonly used as an antitussive, does not make it a drug for the immature and unlearned.

Look at pot. Some people who smoke it daily seem stupid. Many people thought pot caused brain damage. But pot has *never* been shown to cause brain damage, just like DXM. Like pot, DXM has neuroprotective effects (but in a different way).

I'm willing to bet that people who seem to have a diminished mental capacity from these drugs are actually experiencing a simple imbalance of brain chemistry. This would explain why these individuals, after forcing abstinence, appear to get better over time. It's probably because their brain chemistry went back to normal. I'm also willing to bet that some individuals can actually *benefit* from these drugs, for similar reasons.

edit: It's possible that you meant all that extra shit they put in the syrup is poison. I can agree with that. If pure DXM powder could still be procured legally, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

By buying the DXM with the intent to use it to get high you can also be prosicuted.... Im not sure if it would be on the same level, but its easier to catch someone going to a grocery store buying DXM filled cough medication rather than secretly buying tiny pieces of paper. Although that dosnt mean DXM dosnt have its interesting moments ; )
 
Hey cookiemonster420, can you provide a link showing us what laws are set up to prevent OTC medication abuse? I've been looking around, and can only find discussions with people stating that OTC abuse is illegal. No links to actual law texts are given. If you could find such a link, you would be doing this community a favor!
