....the voting is not working for me....anyone else with the same problem?...."there has been a problem authenticating you at this time. Please try again later"......whats that about?

It may need pop-ups enabled for that site. I just voted using Firefox OK. I had to log in to my Google account though.

Worth doing just to see the results: Get this!

IT'S TIME TO END THE WAR ON DRUGS
Agree : 89%
Disagree : 6%
Unsure : 5%

Just checked the speakers: Looks like it's going to be a heavyweight bout. What I'd really like to see is less speakers, otherwise there is not time for actual debate. Ideally, Peter Hitchens vs Bluelight ;)

thanks for your help. I tried what you said, used Safari, Fire Fox and Chrome, and all get the same thing. Pop ups enabled...even restarted my computer for good measure....i really want to vote....i wish i knew what was going on :/

I believe what's going on is that Google is requesting to personally identify you to the server that is hosting the poll. Google has been a real motherfucker lately, demanding to share your info with its customers. So I guess try changing your privacy settings on Google.

Ahh i see, thank you.
I changed my Google privacy settings a while back...now i am unsure if i can be bothered to change them back for this. I don't like Google lately...

Just voted, 91% agree as of my vote. Im unsure if this will do anything but interesting to watch, thanks for sharing mate :)

No problem. I wish some Daily Mail readers and the concerned mothers would watch it. To be honest the majority of people on youtube are going to be young people, mainly males.

"Error: Server Error
The server encountered an error and could not complete your request.

If the problem persists, please report your problem and mention this error message and the query that caused it."

Bwaaaahhhhhhhhh! I'm missing it!

Edit: Got it! It's working now.

that general kept saying that if he walked around NYC smoking weed he would have a hard time getting arrested, and that people aren't imprisoned in the US for simple possession, and that there is really no such thing as the war on drugs. I've heard the prohibitionists use this line of reasoning a lot: we don't need to legalize drugs because drugs are already essentially legal.

The world they're describing doesn't exist. Do they ever read THIS FORUM?

...we don't need to legalize drugs because drugs are already essentially legal.
I believe the Nazis used a similar argument i.e. "these laws we have against you will never actually be enforced..."

My overall impression of the debate was that those against the war on drugs need to learn how to speak and command a debate. I know it's early days, and it's a big step forward that we are having these debates at all, but the other side spoke a lot more assertively, loudly and clearly in good English and this gave them an advantage.

Superb debate. You have to hand it to spitzer, he was amazing. Pro lawyer. his cross-exam of Steve Rolles really backfired though, Rolles knows his stuff big time.

Everybody hates hitchens!

Certainly a pro lawyer. He can represent both sides =D

Former NY Governor Eliot Spitzer: Legalize Marijuana
Former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer–yes, the governor who resigned after a publicized tryst with a high-end prostitute–is on the right side of the marijuana fence. Spitzer recently appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher and explained why he belives marijuana should be legalized in New York.

Funny how the Daily Mail don't have a single drug related article in their paper today.
