Lots of writers--heck, artists in general--often have a particular kind of music that they'll listen to when they work, either as inspiration or as background music: Stephen King likes classic rock, Pastis (cartoonist of Pearls Before Swine) likes Gabriel's Passion, and so on.

I have my own tastes. Here are just a few of my current faves for background / daydreaming music while writing:

Klaus Schulze, The Dresden Performance.
Clannad, Legend.
Pink Floyd, A Momentary Lapse of Reason.
Delirium, Reflections.
Tangerine Dream, Underwater Sunlight (whenever I find the damned thing...)
Cuzco, Apurimac II.

So, what's your writing music?

cool topic :)

I mostly listen to classical/baroque or non-lyric based electronic. Glitch mostly. Sometimes I'll listen to something that is lyric dominant like Ray Charles.

Sia
Lamb
The Books
Ray LaMontagne
Portishead
Hermitude
Fleet Foxes
The Arcade Fire

This is more my study/writing/ designing music. Very effective !
