Does it sound like what it means? Not really but once you know what it means it kinda does I always thought. In a rather abstract way admittedly.

Think I have the word theme on the brain cos next pleasing-sounding word that pops to mind is "circumlocution" - a thing I never do indulge in. No no no not never not I.

Ooh lucky, my birthstone's peridot. I think. Loquacious is also a great word and I guess kinda apt for the thread

The first word that pops into my head any time someone asks this sort of question is ambivalent.

As reminded by some programme recently (was Newsnight I think actually) that brought the subject up. If you can get it in Scrabble you're probably gonna win... antidisestablishmentarianism. I'm actually not anti disestablishmentarianism myself but rather in favour of it.

Bonus points for anybody who can come within a reasonable range of guessing the longest word in the English language - without googling obviously. As a hint, I don't think you could actually fit in into a single post

The somewhat Teutonic theme reminded me of a German word somebody told me of quite recently which tickled me immensely at the time. I did hear it pronounced (although doubt I'd attempt it myself given memories of German lessons at school ) and it sounded for all the world like somebody sneezing to me. It's probably not the finest word ever but did amuse me greatly for a while. I do believe drugs were also involved...
