Your sitting on the fence! Does your butt hurt!

I'm pretty sure this applies to a lot of addicts! The fence being responsibility/addiction. BTW my butt hurts for about 2 years! I've been using off and on for about 20 years, and was lazy, jobless, blah blah blah! 2 years I've been able to walk the fine line. Close calls along the way, and the lunch time, come home, issue, back to work. Anyone please reply with war stories about the fence if so inclined. My punctuation sucks I know! Love you party people!

On one side of my fence is my life now, with my wife, a future child, and a stable job. But I'm very unhappy.
On the other side of the fence is my dream of making my own furniture, and photography, and having fun with my friends.

I lost touch with my friends because they party a lot, and take drugs. I quit the drugs and it was fine for a time. But now I want drugs again because I feel something is missing in my life, and nothing gives me pleasure anymore.

So it is the same if fall from the fence to one side or the other. That makes my butt hurt.

Amen brotha, I want to climb back to the other side and fly straight. I get so bored with "normal" life. I'm 48, started messing around with weed at 15. A shit load of meth later, I'll be modest and say 20 years of use. There's some clean time and two trips to rehab sprinkled in there. How to put the junkie back in the basement???

Hey this is a cool idea. I think it's an interesting topic that a lot of us can relate to. In my town, more and more people are becoming full-blown street addicts every day. I mean, no computer, no phone, not allowed inside stores.

With that being said, it's a depressing fact that us addicts here on BL, whether sober, using or "on the fence" are kind of the "middle class' of drug users. In my town, it says a lot if you have a working phone, clean clothes etc.

Anyway, looking forward to some good stories. I'll come contribute whenever I get a chance. I'm moving this over to Drug Culture, but it would also be good as a blog I think.
