I've been doing some research and there's lots of side effect threads, MOST of them are from irresponsible users who obviously didn't know how to take it safely but my question is what do you think are the chances of a responsible, casual user getting bad, lasting side effects like memory loss, can't think properly, feel spaced, depersonalization, depression etc

lets say a guy does 200mg mdma(crystal only) once a month for 2 years, is fully responsible etc, what would you PERSONALLY(from what you've heard/read/experienced) say is the chance(e.g. 30 percent) that this responsible casual user would experience side effects which would at least be noticeable/interfere with his everyday life and I'm not talking about a day after the roll, as at that time you'd obviously be prone to some temporary side effects.

also please feel free to generally discuss your opinions on safe, moderated, long term mdma use and the probability of worrying side effects

200mg of mdma once a month for 2 years is not responsible. MDMA is it's own drug, and a powerful one. Responsible use of MDMA would be 3-4 times a year no more.
You also have to think most people who use MDMA also do other drugs, which ads onto the side effects of MDMA. MDMA always puts a hefty toll on your brain, the less you use the better.

If you read around you will see some people feel fucked in the head from it after only 5-6 times.

Doing it once a month for two years probably wont give too much damage, but it will deminish the effect of the roll. MDMA tolerance builds up really quickly as the brain and body tries to protect itself from damage. Therefore I reccomend AT LEAST 30 days, and preferebly 90 days or so..
Do MDMA when you really want to have an epic night.. its not that uber epic if its in your montly routine for long time.. and you would miss it after quitting. Thats when you would start to feel after effects.

MDMA is incredible, one of the most outstanding drugs for sure. It's best left for good occasions and not in a routine

true that!!!! Dude I missed you! welcome back!

Once a month in my opinion is too much. You might not notice the ill effects straight away but for me they had a nasty habit of appearing once I got into my 30s when my memory started playing up at this point it was too late.

I would say if you are taking 200mg every month then the chances of some type of side effect into your 30s are high. In regards to derealization etc that doesnt happen to everyone but some people are just unlucky.

Memory is a classic quality to deterriorate with age. I don't understand how you can suddenly be fine and then it all hits you once you get older? Perhaps you're just getting older and your cognition is deterriorating anyway. I've noticed my mum's memory is rapidly deterriorating and i'm pretty certain she never took MDMA. Granted shes a fair bit older than 30, but still, I don't understand how MDMA could suddenly cause ill effects way after consuming it. Is there a scientific rationale behind it? Don't mean to come across as pissy, just interested in how this might work.

I've been, for the most part, extremely responsible with my MDMA consumption. My average wait time between experiences is 2-3 months, but i've taken it 2-3 weeks apart and while drunk. This is across a time span of roughly 1 year & a half (I started February 2011). Apart from the first time, I've tested everything I've taken and never consumed over 200mg in one session. Nor have I redosed more than once and the redose has never brought the overall consumption above 160mg. My typical dosage is 120mg + 40mg once i'm up (roughly 1hour 30 mins after the first drop). Guess what, i've never experienced anything noticeably bad. One comedown I had brainfog for a day, but I'd also spent the whole weekend at a festival eating poorly, drinking heavily etc. All the times I've hydrated properly, eaten & allowed myself to comedown fully before sleeping, i've had no comedown nor negative affects other than feeling slightly 'spaced out' but nothing to even mention really.

Each experience is as beautiful as the last and, in fact, the other week was my best roll yet. Yes, thats right, I still have the magic after 1 year & a half! People always ask what i'm on as if they want it, but I digress. In my opinion, once a month is, providing your dosage is not ridiculous, very unlikely to cause side effects worth noting.

This will produce little to no side effects. You will have the brain of a non user pretty much.

It doesnt come across as pissy but you are constantly looking for scientific rational yet have drawn all your own conclusions on only 1.5 years use.

My use spans over 18 years that is quite a difference. The memory issues I am experiencing now are not just age related I can promise you that.

Why it hit me when I was older I dont know but I started to notice a general decline after about 30 and it got worse. I definitely have cognotive defects now and I honestly beleive if I hadnt taken MDMA at all there would be no problems.

Sure following the HR rules helps and it is likely any damage being done will likely go unnoticed but it would seem each time you use it has an accumulative effect so the longer you take it the more likely problems are to surface. I have read quite a few reports that also confirm this of course every report you can argue its merits but when you hear something time and time again there must be something in it.

I do not deny that testing, limiting dose, not redosing, staying hydrated following a supp regime both pre and post help but I dont think any of this makes you immune to the potential dangers.

I've used MDMA in this way for about 10 years now, probably averaging about once per month, sometimes more often, sometimes less. My mind and memory are still functional enough to do chemistry at a graduate level and do software development. I have never had any of the sort of weird side effects I hear people talk about. I honestly have no idea what depersonalization or "brain zaps" are, but I've never experience any side effect I would describe using those words. I've just gotten the typical lethargy/headache/general "bleh" feeling the day after, and sometimes I get a little depression that lags into the 2nd day after. I have never felt a side effect that has lasted beyond the 2nd day.

I use amphetamine pretty regularly at low doses, but I don't really use any other drugs frequently. I almost never smoke marijuana, and I use psychadelics a few times per year. Not sure if any of this is part of the overall effect, but I wanted to throw in all the info.

But yes, I think it is very possible to use MDMA in that way and not have any cumulative negative effects.

What sort of doses of mdma do you use each time scure? have you ever abused mdma over this time?

I have not had brain zaps but I have had depersonalization and kind of still have it in many ways definitely something you dont want.

I got little to no side-effects from taking MDMA for years, on a weekly basis. Other than being hyperactive and skinny, like 130 pounds on a six foot frame.

Oops, I thought I put that in my post. Usually around 200mg, all in one dose, and I almost never redose. If I do, dosing is usually 100mg + 100mg.

After 20-odd years of at times insanely OTT use and abuse (was IVing 3.5g a week at one stage) and doing absolutely nothing to try to combat any possible side-effects or damage (aside from taking a shitload of other kewl drugs alongside it, of course) I can honestly say I don't have any longterm effects other than being kinda chilled and with impeccable taste in music.

Not saying this is big or clever or owt (cos it clearly isn't) but is the truth.

I think even the pro MDMA users out there would except once a week is kind of pushing it. All I can say is lucky you :)

No worries so never abused then scure and always followed the HR rules? Ever had any bad shit or stuff that wasnt pure MDMA?

When I triggered my longterm comedown it was from a coctail but interestingly I was with friends who took the same stuff and just experienced a groggy hangover type thing nothing more.

I took care of my brain and body, eat right, always eat fruit when you're coming down. I'm a CRNA. Eat, eat, eat!!!! Replenish, and you'll feel better :)

I have to say as a former MDMA abuser most of the effects you get after heavy use is reversed in usually 2 months, maybe longer in others. You'll get some short-term memory loss after stopping for a few months. But again, it all comes back. I used to do it every day for about a month. Towards the end of the month I'd have to take up to 2 grams to an eighth for a good roll. Again, don't do this but this is what I personally have done. I can tell you I don't remember much of that month from last summer. But things after slowly come back to me. Cognitive skills slowly come back. I now take about 250-300mg maybe every two months. And take supplements after the roll for two weeks. 5-HTP is great and I swear by it but hell, that's me.

2-3.5g's to roll. Holey Moley. And I thought coke was an expensive habit.

Yeah it was.
Crashed a friends car, owed someone $450 and smoke a fuck ton of weed that I should've done something else with. If you know what I mean. Also almost got arrested at OCNJ. My dumbass took half a G before the beach and drank 2 shots. From there I blackout, the bottle of vodka is almost empty and only 2 out of the 4 friends were drinking. Within 6 hours we took about 11 shots each without even noticing it. Then I unblackout and police are in front of me.
But needless to say, I'm feeling healthy, I mean I have anxiety but I had that for years. And my tolerance has reset. 250mg gets me rollin hard.
