So this is a question to all you word artists out there: If you were on stage giving your first significant public performance (say your first crowd of at least 500 people w/ press and cameras) what would you want the very first words to come out of your mouth to be?
how would you want to make your first impression be the best it can be? What would you want it to say about who you are?
Give a little background and elaborate if you can, don't just say the words in quotes and leave it at that.

I personally don't know what I'd say, but I'm thinking about it now and anything I think of I don't want to commit to! It just seems like an interesting topic and I'm hoping other people can give some great examples.

If I was performing on stage in front of a crowd it would be because im rapping.

"these are the results of a 1000 eletric volts, a neck with bolts, nurse we're losing him check the pulse!"

In this scenario, I have overcome my tremendous fear of public speaking.

I would stare at them for a moment with an expressionless face, and with a very serious tone, announce, "One day, you're going to die."

I'd stare another moment. Then I'd turn around and walk away.

I would walk out with a grainy recording of quotes from the Manson family. After I staggered around with a cigarette in my mouth I would find a stool to bring up on stage, and in a pissy offensive way I would grunt "I love heroin and ugly black women" Then I would play the most bad ass drum solo on my thighs.

"Hey, if I play you guys some songs, could someone go out and feed the meter for me? Thanks." *plays songs*

"Esteemed colleagues, board members, and friends of the company... The doors have been locked so there will be no escape for you. I've rigged this room to explode! Prepare yourselves to DIE!!"

They'd never forget me.
