Your favourite arcade game from years gone by?

I'm sure Tars would agree :
Vote 1 - Galaga
Still play it at the pub over a pint of Stella.
I should take you down to the Public Bar Tars and Van, they have the original version. It's the only place i know that does. Not like the rip-offs ones at Revolver and The Lounge.
Also votes to :
Heavy Barrel
Doom series
Lemmings
Dune

moon patrol and lode runner on AppleIIe
oh yeah. Anyone have any idea what one of them is worth with twin disc drive? Got one in A1 working order with lots of software

ahh let me think....
Double Dragon would have to be my all time favourite..
hehe used to hate those Big Green Guys.
Operation Wolf ( the one with the gun ) was also great. wasted so much money on that..
Braja.

definatly Brozne Adventure and Golden Axe.
two of my all time favs

Bom Shankar!

If you are talking games in general, then it has to be quake! quake is the king! I lived and breathed that game for a few years (thank god drugs saved me

).
Anyone else go to the impulse 98 Lan championships?

Awesome thread! Most (if not all) of those games I remeber like it was yesterday.

Rainbow Islands
Wonderboy in Monserland (skipped so many classes in high school on this one)
Kung Fu Master
Shinobi
There was one game on the Amiga that I am wish was ported over to pc...The Feary Tale Adventure.....fuck I loved that game. One of the earlier rpg's.
Now where is that Intellivision.....

Ahhh memories.....
River-raid was great on the Atari 2600
on the totally shite AMSTRAD 64:
Ghosts & Goblins was cool (used to charge my sister 20c
smile.gif
)
on the almighty AMIGA 500:
Kickoff was a slick soccer game
and there was a mad game called superfrog which I spent a few years trying to finish (I was hopeless)
and some car racing game where there were crazy tracks eg. 'the rollercoaster' -
anyone remember???

Adz-o-rama: Hero rocked! I remember me and a mate played that game on the atari for about 24 hours straight. Flying around with the jet pack on was awesome.
XSI11V: The game with the "rollercoaster" was called StuntRacer and yes it also rocked.
Anyone remember Zac McKraken....another classic like Maniac Mansion...

van diemen: KARNOV!!!!!!!!!!! you da man
smile.gif
prolly my fave of all time, if only cos i played it sooooooo much.
arcade:
galaga
1942

armalyte
bubble bobble (never played it in the arcade)

sim city
argh whats the one called, where you're digging for diamonds, rocks can fall on you and stuff???

Cosmic - You fucking legend - I had Pressure Cooker as well - what a fucking lordly game - the 2600 was the shit!!!!!!!
Aksen - My friend has Karnov stand up edition at his house - It fucking rules - then end was sooooooo fucking impossible. and the game you are thinking of with the rocks and diamonds is Boulderdash!!!! On C64 this was the shit as well
smile.gif

This is great - this is the best thread on Bluelight by fucking miles - I feel like I'm 8 again
smile.gif

Yet another quality game - Pengo!!!!!!!
Too many memories - too many coke bottles - back in the good old days when pinnies were 20c...........

Carola's humblest servant

aksen...I think the game you're refering to with the diamonds is Digger with the ol 'Popcorn' soundtrack. Classic.

Does a Hanimex swizzle stick console you play on the tv from the 70's count for anything? I've got it all at my house
smile.gif

I heard the rumour that Day of the Tentacle had the original Maniac Mansion tucked away inside it.. any truth?
A faded memory is of a game on C64 called Stroker. It required you to move the joystick so that the hand moved up and down on the.. on the.. screen
wink.gif
You get the picture. My friends mum ripped it out of the drive instantly and we never saw it again.
Which moves me on to sexgames.. why don't you see that on playstation and the like?

where would we be without video games?
smile.gif

very nice choices boys and girls !
mortal kombat 1 & 2 ,streetfighter series,1942,snow bros , sega rally , nba jam ,teenage mutant ninja turtles,sonic the hedgehog,gran turismo 1 & 2
smile.gif
,alex kid , carnage , double dragon , shinobi ,ghosts and ghouls .
anyone else remember an arcade game with the charactors from monkey magic in it? pigsy, monkey and sally not sure of the name ,its probably fucking monkey magic
smile.gif

i have a short game i can e mail to anyone interested ( [email protected] )and ill hit it back soon as . Its called PEAKING GAME - your mission to munch mitsi's ,watch out for the 'cid ,k and smacky pills ,nice background track "looking out for love" by NFI
smile.gif

Moon patrol and galaga definately. I loved mole hunter too.
My fave however was pin ball, especially the old ones. You got 5 balls for 20 cents. Value for your hard earned pocket money!
Do you remember 'em? The points would rack up pretty slowly (like 10 points at a time) but you could play em for ages.
*sings* (badly) "I'm a pin ball wizard...."
wink.gif

I dunno what they're talkin about when they say computer games don't affect kids.....
I mean if pac man affected us as kids,
we'd be sitting around in darkened rooms munching pills and listening to repetitive music....
smile.gif

Energizer : STUNTRACER - yeah that's the one - I'd give anything to get the old amiga crankin again

Green Beret, Rygar, R-Type and Twin Cobra
smile.gif

comsic seadog: yeah! there's truth in that rumour.. I'm pretty sure you had to play the computer that's hidden somewhere in the game (i can't remember where.. )... man that game was a fuckin pisser..
