I like it because it doesn't glorify it or complain about it, but just says it like it is in a humorous way.
Kind of taking the piss.

I merged your thread with this one because I figured you guys could discuss favorite songs about drugs or songs you think depicts certain drug (ab)use in this here same thread

Cool?

Sounds fine to me :)

I'm just catching up on all the songs people have posted, awesome. I love music so much! (But who doesn't?!? sociopaths, that's who ;) ).

I clearly have really, uh, eclectic tastes in music. Here's some 80s songs for ya:

White Lines - Grandmaster Melle Mel & The Furious 5

Under Pressure - Queen with David Bowie

The Stones on the sudden popularity of Valium in the 60's:

"Kids are different today, I hear ev'ry mother say
Mother needs something today to calm her down
And though she's not really ill, there's a little yellow pill
She goes running for the shelter of a mother's little helper
And it helps her on her way, gets her through her busy day"

The Needle And The Damage Done - Neil Young, cover by Laura Marling

I chose this cover because it's different I'm sure everyone's familiar with the original.

Sample lyric:
Every junkie's like a setting sun

I always thought that was a beautifully poetic way of putting it. A sunset is that moment when the trailing edge of the sun's bright disk disappears below the horizon in an intense blaze of colours in the surrounding sky.

Amazing song! Beautiful cover to. I got on this thread, specifically, to post this song as a favorite, but you beat me to it! It's the first song that popped into my head when I read the thread title. I do a version on my acoustic as well.
