Heroin by The Velvet Underground.

Pretty much every song by Tom Waits that has to do with alcohol and drinking, and there are a few of his songs about opiates and/or crank/speed or that mention those drugs.

I seem to relate every lyric I hear to heroin while withdrawing. Most probably are'nt about heroin at all, though a lot are.

My favourites:
Saosin - seven years
Silverstien - your sword vs my dagger "stabbing in permanent scars, justifying it all in your head"
And many more

From the pen of Michael Head ( Pale Fountains / Shack / The Strands ), Liverpudlian musical G*d contemporaneous with the La's and should have been huge but like Lee Mavers ( allegedly ) laid waste by H, leaving the way clear for the laughably bad dad rock of the Gallagher brothers instead. And that kids is why heroin is shit! 8)

Eligh, Northern CA rapper from Living Legends crew. Grew up listening to this dude, favorite rapper. Turns out he fell into heroin addiction. 'Find Yourself' details his addiction well. The albums Grey Crow and Therapy at 3 both delve pretty deep into addiction and recovery. Plus he's just a dope ass rapper and the beats are awesome. Highly recommended.

Back in the day I chased the dragon to that song too many times.

Although it's not about addiction I always think of Tom Waits - I Hope That I Don't Fall In Love With You, when I'm at some run down dive bar drinking by myself.

I can't help it, any pretty lady i see I fall in love with, even if it's only for 10 minutes or 10 years.

EDIT NSA- and these seemed like they would look nice on a loveseat.

I know it has already been mentioned, but Black Balloon by the Goo Goo Dolls.

Every time I hear that song it makes me so emotional, but it speaks right to me.
