"Fill your bowl to the brim and it will spill. Keep sharpening your knife and it will blunt. Chase after money and security and your heart will never unclench. Care about people's approval and you will be their prisoner. Do your work, then step back. The only path to serenity."
- Tao Te Ching

I really like that, it's very true.

Here is the test to find whether your mission on Earth is finished: if you're alive, it isn't.
-Richard Bach

I like that quote as well, but it depends how you look at it. I mean, you could read it and think "wow, so the meaning of life is to live, finish your mission then die directly after that?" lol I'm just high and thinking too much but whatever.

And this one's pretty good too.

A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him.
-David Brinkley

'The experience of a lifetime is the privilege of being who you are"

Joseph Campbell

"you can turn your back on a person, but never turn your back on a drug."

"The deepest feeling shows itself in silence"

I heard this the other day- really corny!

" If you dont tell your kitty about cat nip, who will" HEHE!

"If we could sniff or swallow something that would, for five or six hours each day, abolish our solitude as individuals, atone us with our fellows in a glowing exaltation of affection and make life in all its aspects seem not only worth living, but divinely beautiful and significant, and if this heavenly, world-transfiguring drug were of such a kind that we could wake up next morning with a clear head and an undamaged constitution - then, it seems to me, all our problems (and not merely the one small problem of discovering a novel pleasure) would be wholly solved and earth would become paradise."

--Aldous Huxley

I love this quote, it's one of my all-time favorites.

"Let children walk with Nature, let them see the beautiful blendings and communions of death and life, their joyous inseparable unity, as taught in woods and meadows, plains and mountains and streams of our blessed star, and they will learn that death is stingless indeed, and as beautiful as life. "
John Muir

"A great man is always willing to be little. "
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Joy in the universe, and keen curiosity about it all - that has been my religion.
John Burroughs

"Good character is more to be praised than outstanding talent. Most talents are, to some extent, a gift. Good character, by contrast, is not given to us. We have to build it piece by piece -- by thought, choice, courage and determination."
- John Luther

2 silly quotes from some older days at Bluelight:

"Mate of mine put his blotter in a glass of coke... said he heard it got the lsd "flowing" so to speak"

"I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too."

Does a line from a song qualify as a quote???
