I wrote this poem about an old friend who i recently caught up with, it's abstract and unedited, i just needed to get my feelings out on paper:

Through your glasses-clad shining eyes,
I see what no one else could.
A joy hidden in your tiny frame
An accidental glimpse into what you fear most.

You sleeping giant,
Unaware of the god that you'll become
Living in a world that doesn’t understand
Limited by your doors of perception

One day, everything will be clear
A flash of what went wrong
I only wish I could show you
What’s so clearly there

I wish I could have taken you
Shown you a place of stars and moonlight
An escape of the only place you’ve known
Something you wouldn’t yet understand

Your cocoon is cast
And is seeping
Preparing for the moment when you’ll burst
And for that moment,
The world will be yours.
