Britney Spears - I Love Rock and Roll (stay away from the classics, bitch)

i actually like this one! i mean i dont think its better then the origional, but i always have fun singing along :)

i also liked the atomic kitten version of "the tide is high".

^^^^Oh yeah, I forgot about the atomic kitten one....I hate that one too :p;)

^ yeah that one is WRONG WRONG WRONG...i was trying to remember that one before...:\

Swifty - big word on the sarah blasko flame trees cover, she did an amazing job.

Other worthy mentions...

A Perfect Circle - When the Levee Breaks (doesn't top the original, but a different spin, and certainly an impressive one)

Ben Harper - Drugs Don't Work & Sexual Healing

I heard Jose Gonzales (acoustic solo artist) do a cover of Massive Attacks "Teardrop"

He nailed it. Even thought I adore the Massive Attack version, his one felt so passionate and emotional. Definatley Goose-bump material.

Anyone else here it this morning on Triple J's "Like a Version?"
(Hmmm I wonder if JJJ have it downloadable yet...)

A few of my favourites...

Rammstein - Stripped
Bodyjar - Hazy Shade Of Winter
Living End - Tainted Love
Pennywise - Down Under
Something For Kate - Harpoon (love both the original and the cover)

I'm sure there's plenty more but they're the few that spring to mind

Worst...i dunno, really bad covers i tend to forget straight away....

I love both of those as well...also, Orgy's cover of Blue Monday is pretty neat. :)

I <3 this thread!! =D

the good
Sexual healing done by ben harper. dare i say better than the original?

The BAD
Perry Farrell's blasphemous re-hash of "whole lotta love" by Led Zep
spew

^^^^Dayum, I knew there was another Tori Amos one I missed...she does whole lotta love as well, I like that too.

um, and also the Perry Farrell one incidentally.... :)

I hear this one was made famous by a certain Bluelighter. ;)

I've been digging through my music collection and came up with a few more:

Radiohead do a great job of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here.

I also really love Nirvana's cover of The Man Who Sold the World - David Bowie. It's on their unplugged album.

Smashing Pumpkins, doing an awesome job of Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide".

Amazingly good.

I beat you all:

WORST - DAVID HASSELHOFF - Jump in my car (video clip starring Kit from Knight Rider)

BEST - MICHAEL BOOOOOOBLE' - No shit that man makes old songs so catchy.

I will deny I wrote that last one if anyone asks me. Someone must have logged in under my name dammit.

Also a certain Bluelighter who currently has a well known band did an Acustic version of RAPTURE which I thought was f*cking amazing... albeit I expected little of taking a dance tune and turning it into a slow duo with guitars.

Jolly good.

On Channel V the other day, they had some homebake footage

Something for kate did "Rock The Casbah"

Sounds fuckin GREAT!!!

other mentions...

Faith No More - Easy

im sure there are more, im just fuckin lazy...

I've always been a complete fan of Angie Hart singing New Orders Bizaare Love Triangle.

Weezer - Across The Sea, RATM - Freedom, Slipknot - Scissors = best songs
