Young alcoholic's wait for liver transplant

Alcoholics do not deserve to have liver transplants.

This is fucking ridiculous.

Yeah, no one gives smokers lung transplants. Don't understand why it's acceptable to divert a vital organ to a person who 1) put substantial effort into trashing their body for many years and 2) is highly likely to start drinking again post-op.

; alcohol must just plainly be more euphoric to some people.

It is, I can get drunkish every evening for a month without any real gain in tolerance or diminishment in desirable effects, then I can stop for a while (or continue for a while more) without any real issue. Opiates don't do that for me, I'm always having to take multi-month breaks for tolerance and be totally paranoid about my usage to avoid w/d.
