I know man crazy isn't it. All the expensive for the benefit of other people. When me and the Mrs get married its a registry office 6 people jobby then Just a knees up in the eve at local boozer. It may sound cheap etc but its what we both want. SO FUCK EM!!! :)

Yeh, same here mate - that's IF we ever get married. We've managed to avoid it for 25 years so far :)

Huh, I always thought you were. Fair play to you for not giving into pressure to do the normal thing, ive never really seen much benefit in marriage either.

Me either. However to be honest being in love and finding happiness changes that mindset. well for me at least a bit (Which contradicts my previous post) And the start of this post haha

Haha. To be fair, I get that some people see it as a serious romantic gesture. If neither person really buys into it though, then why should you need some legal/religious tradition to prove your relationship is serious imo
 
In theory, there are certain financial benefits to being married, such as if I die, the Mrs has no right to my pension if we're not married. But seeing as I've got fuck all pension worth having, that's not really an issue. I think it's wrong that hetero couples aren't allowed a civil partnership - particularly now that gay couples are allowed civil partnerships and marriage. I find that rather discriminatory...

Amen to that. To be honest were hoping we get enough dollar to get a honeymoon out of it !!!
 
Sir Elton John's husband hasn't got an automatic honorific title -- he's not Lady Furnish, or anything, even although he's married to a Knight of the Realm. And if Elton passes first, he won't be a Dowager.

But you can't really expect equality from a system that is ultimately based on the Divine Right of Kings to Rule, about as far as you can get from equality before the Law .....

I don't quite know why anyone would insist on a Civil Partnership as opposed to a marriage. I thought it would have been more sensible just to abolish the distinction ..... But I suppose they didn't want to piss off the Bishops. The Church doesn't want to have to obey the same laws as everyone else .....
 
The sun is shining so I've gone out for the first cycle of 2017. Could have really gone for a low dose of acid actually, but alas there is a busy road to navigate and those microdots really don't look like they'll lend themselves well to accurate dosing. Still very pleasant though, I suppose.

Need to get mothers day shit too, very nearly forgot!

i think it's May in Australia. if not, i may have to make an apologetic call to my mum tomorrow.

why couldn't they make all the hallmark holidays the same date across the world?
