ebola

"bad" is subjective -- and being a junkie temporarily hasn't been half bad given the position I'm in. Was waiting in constant pain for a year before I began treatment for my back recently. Had to do something, and desperation set in.

and I might be a junkie if I go buy some substituted cathinone legally when I can get speed normally

I'm a functioning heroin addict; being a junky isn't bad. The most active discrimination is towards drug addicts (other than alcohol and tobacco; both way worse for people than oipates) women, blacks and now gays approach equal rights. While the drug user subculture harassed by police and fired/never hired because of using drugs when off work; if heroin was legal it would turn many dysfunctional users into functional users and stop nearly all overdoses.

Im likely a junkie because. I need drugs every day to feel even normal or more often barely half way there. It can be a temporary thing once I get a decent doc. I'll put most this stuff down once im better and can work my way off whatever meds. I've dealt with dependencies before and have gotten over it before. I'm doing pretty much everything a can just to cope for now. I trust I'll get the right treatment eventually. Need to look into deferent docs. Opiates/opioids don't even effect my pain much. Need to try some other things I think.

...when you happen to spill your speedball solution and snoot up as much of it as you can even though you know your gear (cup and oral syringe) weren't cleaned after the last time you plugged!

am I going to get junkie butt-nose disease?

Touche!!!

Also, you might be a junky if.....as you watch the Hersheys chocolate bliss commercial and the announcers says "one square inch of pure bliss" you're not thinking about chocolate. You're thinking about a stamp bag.

I just have to say how much I hate the term "junkie;" it seems to suggest a sort of archetype that just doesn't exist, this grimy, unkempt, unshaven, unemployed, homeless, drug-addled, bumbling, stupefied individual who shoots up in gas station bathrooms with puddle water, his belt around his arm and a lighter under a bent, blackened spoon. It's just absurd and ridiculous...

^Why would you shoot up with puddle water in a gas station bathroom? gas station tap water would be much preferable! I used to work for a municipal water department, testing water and chlorinating new water lines. Had to have a water distribution license. for the most part, I trust municipal water in the US to shoot up with, the standards are actually pretty high..a lot better than puddle water! Which consequently, I know someone who shot up with puddle water and eventually got endocarditis and died!

As far as junkie stereotypes. I've done heroin while working making a lot of money, I've done it while dealing. I've done it while homeless. It will throw you for a fucking loop as a drug, and being addicted to heroin is a good way to become homeless, especially if you have no mommy and daddy to bail you out....It notoriously brought a lot of educated, employed, financially stable people and put them on the streets or in the grave, it's just a fact...I'd probably be completely fucked without friends and family helping me long enough to get my shit together..many times

Also, it's pretty common for it to make people stop eating properly and caring for their basic needs, hence looking "unkempt and unshaven"...In the US it also happens to be dealt mostly in low-income areas to people who can barely afford to keep themselves going without a drug problem. A few years of homelessness and using heroin on the streets will make you mentally unstable and fucked up looking too.

I agree that the majority of heroin addicts don't fit the stereotype, most "junkies" live in the suburbs, but the stereotype exists for good reason. Go to any city on the East coast to a dope area and you'll see a bunch of people that fit the exact description you just mentioned...basically go to any area where heroin is dealt and you'll see people that look like that....Although most heroin users are in better shape than crack users, but hey..those are the people that John Q public actually "sees", so they assume everyone who does heroin is a bum...

Gas station bathrooms are the safest, best place to shoot up if you need to find a place to fix without getting caught....It's better than your car! Sorry, but I think gas station bathrooms can be a godsend as an IV heroin user! Of course my girlfriend ODd locked in one a few years ago, she lived...thank GOD.

I'm sorry to give you a hard time, but are you really saying that heroin fucking your life up and making you homeless and rough around the edges is a myth?

some people can manage a heroin habit for awhile without having it screw them up, I pulled it off for years, but finding yourself broke, sick and desperate at certain points is just par fot the course if you keep using that drug. It's really mostly the legal and financial aspects of it that cause this...My friend had his power shut off last month and he makes 250k+ a year....He had it turned right back on, but he's easily able to spend a good 60-70% of what he makes on his drug habit. Anyone could eventually figure out how to come up with x amount of money a day, but pretty much everyone ends up doing more and more, adding cocaine or other shit on top of it. That's the "problem", it just becomes unsustainable! If you have to pay $800 for rent on the first and it's the 29th and you're dopesick, 9 out of 10 times the rent's not getting paid on time!

Hate the term too. Think it's cos it feels so insulting and dehumanising.

OT: You might be an rx j-word if you know all the oxycodone insurance medical insurance codes better than your Dr and he thanks you for the help.

Southern California has the nastiest tap water Ive ever seen. Its so foggy and just looks unhealthy in general.

Not to get way too heavy on this topic, but in certain places they measure it from the water treatment distribution facility, so whatever happens to it in the pipes on it's way to where it's going isn't the state's responsibility. Where I worked, we actually had to measure the levels from tap water at another location.

It's pathogens that can make you sick. As unappealing as it may look and smell, rust and lime deposits with a little cloudiness won't really hurt you.

Oops! I once nodded off after a nice shot of H while trying to hit the next shot of meth. Nothing like nodding off with a meth needle in your arm.

^that actually sounds great to me right now! that's one of my favorite combos, but it sucks because you just keep craving more of the other drug...A lot of H will pretty much cancel out any amount of meth IME though....then when the dope wears off you feel the meth for awhile and want more dope to come down! but talk about not caring or worrying about anything, that combo makes me feel like nothing can even touch me!

Junkies like the n-word, junkies and jolly african-americans use the slurs as a term of endearment; and the genral public use it to stereotype and put down people.
