The day comes crashing down on me
Nothing's right... not my hair, not my life
Once again i've collected too many fake smiles
And the one last thing to fall unleashes the truth:
i can't do it anymore...
I can only be that shimmering temptress 1 night a week,
The other 6 i'm a slave to life,
A friend to insomnia
The girl whose eyes cry for closing,
just for a moment.
They start to notice, all of them,
What i prided myself on being so damn good at hiding:
My disappointment.
It's not about the table that didn't tip,
It's not about the bill i couldn't pay,
Or the thing i forgot to do
Or something my mother said...
I'm just losing my own battle for forced happiness,
And sometimes even that painted on smile cant convince anyone otherwise...
Tears cloud my perception of this nightmare,
I close myself in the girl's bathroom and cry
because i dont know what else to do
And you have no resolves about following me in there,
To dry my tears
Even though i just screamed at you, you of all people
out of frustration
You dont have the power to make the nightmare end,
But you're so good at waking me up at just the right moments...
No one has ever tried to understand me,
Quite like you do.
You give me strength without even knowing it.
You make me glow.
Not all the stuffed animals you could place in my arms
Could top the feeling i get
When you're in my arms
And i dont care if the whole restaurant thinks we're crazy
when you carry me in your arms down the aisle just to help me escape for awhile
With ranch dressing running down my shirt
And tears running down my cheeks,
You still make me feel beautiful.
And maybe you understand more than i give you credit for...
Maybe you know where the tears come from
Without me saying it
Maybe you know that I'm hurting myself,
Knowingly
And in some way, you can save me from myself.
Some days its the way you look at me,
Some days its the way you let me sleep,
just a little longer
It's the Pooh thermos and the stuffed Piglet,
And the reassurance that it will all work out
I dont know how to fix my life
But i'm grateful for the way you let me live it
Even though sometimes i just want to give in
You never let me give up.
And when life makes me feel like i'm 90
and i cry because i'm so tired
and i hate the color my hair came out
and my boss refuses my day off
and i twist my ankle at the gym...
you still make me feel beautiful.
inside and out.

He changed me life in ways he'll never know. If things dont end up for us like i want them to, i at least want to look back and remember all he did for me. I havent been this happy in years, despite the fact that i also havent been this depressed in so long. Life has an amazing way of working out i suppose... and the journey is worth every memory.
