Yohimbe used to dilate pupils?

Pretty simple question I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere. I've been researching the crap out of yohimbe today because I have a tincture of it I'd like to experiment with. Nearly every site I look at with a yohimbe description lists 'to dilate pupils' as one of it's uses.

I took a couple droppers full of yohimbe today, didn't feel too much except maybe some very minor stimulation, however my pupils were not dilated at all. How exactly is this stuff used to dilate a person's pupils? Is it dropped directly into the eye?

This is more curiosity than anything. I'm not going to drop yohimbe into my eyes. :!8o I'm just wondering why this is listed as a common use.

Just a small bonus question, I'm reading in some places where people are comparing yohimbe to speed saying how they get crazy stimulation and even euphoria. Anyone?:\
 
U should put it in a drink u probably have to take big dose u could try opiates but b careful I research it more for u bro
 
I have been putting it in soda all day. I also tried putting a half dropper worth under my tongue and holding it there for ~10 mins then swallowing. I thought I may have felt some subtle effects, but easily could've been placebo.

I'm not sure what opiates have to do with anything? I do opiates all the time.

I simply want to know why pupil dilation is listed as a common use of yohimbe.
 
In old hollywood, they would often put something into the actors eyes in order to dilate the pupils because they thought it was more attractive. I dont know what substance it was, but it could have been that stuff.

(I would not recommend putting anything in your eyes, especially when you arent sure that that is its proper use. I probably dont need to say this to most of you, but you never know with some people 8) so this is my disclaimer...)

it was atropine(anticholinergic drug found in datura and similar plants), it is still used today to dilate the pupil in medical settings.
 
Belladonna scares me. Everywhere I read about it being insanely poisonous and how the therapeutic dosage and toxic dosage are super close.
 
can you post a pic or link where it says that? also maybe its the yohimbe and not an extract that does it? maybe that extract doesnt have the extra goods to give that effect or maybe possible side effect. maybe and most likely if bought in some local store its just really old.
last thing i can think of is if it was bought in the usa you were lied to or conned. in the usa you cant really say stuff so definitive with herbals you must say it promotes so and so or ancient tribes used it for ...

i mean i dont feel like searching and you could be correct in saying that the true effects of nonexract yohimby dont give bonners but all over the internet and on the bottle of diatary suppliments they say that is for erectile disfunction and i gives you a hard on. i think ive even read some report of people taking it and feeling a speedy kind of high but then they got hard for a few hours. so i dont really know
 
I am yet to get a boner on this stuff, yet to feel stimulation, yet to see dilated pupils, yet to feel anything at all. Just drank two droppers full ~1.5 hours ago. About to try two more droppers, then I'm shelfing it.

Ordered it from a well known Shaman site. I am.
 
Ok, just put a dropper full under the tongue for 10 mins, then swallowed. Only effect I now notice is my heart is beating abnormally SLOW. =\

Fuck it, ganja time.
 
Either you got ripped or yohimbe just isn't for you.
But if you have real yohimbe, and your pupils aren't dilating, then you've answered your question.
 
Well, I don't know if it's common, and the past few days I've been using it as well (no dilation, but I haven't checked specifically for it, nor did I check when I felt the stimulation and other effects). It can increase heart rate, which increases blood pressure, and blood pressure allows for dilated pupils (same thing happens on weed because of the same reason [vasodilation]), so yes, it probably can. But you'd have to use a considerable amount, however that can lead to nausea and really crazy stimulation/increased heart rate. Weigh the pros and cons in accordance with what you're comfortable with. Good luck, mayne!
